What Kind of Pots?!

i Was just going to buy some cheap nursery pots for $1, 3 gallons each... after realizing the 5 gallon buckets could Only fit at Most 12 in my 4x4 chamber!

Or should i Really spend the money and get the new "smart pots"? The fabric pots? Are they really that much better? Will it make That much of a difference?

Fabric pots allow your roots to breathe. They do work considerably better than solid pots imo. I used square styrofoam ice chests last round for some of mine and that worked well though not an attractive look

i say go w/ burlap or felt bags all the way.. they allow more air as vnsmkr said, they also allow you to feed from the bottom up, like on an ebb n flo table, or even a pan w/ a bubbler underneith. it eliminates chances of mold, stem rot, bugs and many other advantages by under feeding..also ive used a burlap bag for up to 4 harvests before replacing and u can probably do even more w/out any ill efects..

Go to Walmart and buy the blue fabric shopping bags. Those work as fabric pots on a budget...

I dunno man! At Walmart. The blue fabric shopping bags. Smart pot on a budget.

Are they your final pots? I use a stack of 3 gallon pots, perfect size for veg and good for flower if I am not growing bushes or trees. They are easier to transplant out of than grow bags. That said, I ussually transplant into 7-10-15 gal fabric pots for flower. 15gal are a pain in the ass when they have to be picked up to move, make sure you get the fabric pots with handles.

Been growing in the 50 cent blue Walmart bags for years. They hold around 7.5 gallons of soil and have extra long handles. I used the black Dollar General bags one run and they are cheaply stiched, with the handles ripping free middle of first run. I will say to be sure and double check the stitching, as occasionally you will find a bag unraveling.

Indoors i use air pots and absolutely love them. You can just tell by the root ball they are soo much happier.

outside i use the Wal mart bags until i sex the plants then they go in the ground.

Damn! That does look beautiful! Never heard of air pots, what is the cost?

Little more pricey with the air pots it's impossible to get root bound and the usual swirling of roots at the bottom which turn into slow growth.

THey are overpriced and they dry out. Get the fabric pots they are cheap cheap and they are amazing with a living soil system. I bought the airpots long before rols but found them to be a pain to fill and water, but if I ever try to start a tree it will be in an airpot.

needs bigger pot like my inside out one

grow in burlap bags that i buy feed corn in, they hold about 8 gallons of dirt..indoors ive never had to use anything bigger and ive had 6 foot plants in them. im all hydro now though, still use burlap in a flood n drain set up once in a wile but mostly hydro in 3'' rock wool in net pots now.. but everybody i know that grows organic round here use the burlap from cutting to harvest n love it. ive got about 50 sacks in the garage, i use them for camo around my blinds and 4 wheelers if not for growing.

i just picked up some. so i'll do a walmart vs smart pot.... I already have some smart pots I got 3 years ago. But havent used them in a very long time. Decided to switch back to 7 gal fabrics from 10 gal plastic / grow bags

I like the five or seven gallon fabric pots.

About 20
