does your ballast have an HPS/MH switch on it? if you forget to change it over you can fry your ballast doing that.

If its not a switchable ballast you can't just put another type of bulb in. It is either mh, hps, or switchable. If its MH that is all you can put in, if its hps thats all you can put in!!! Soo if you tried to put an HPS bulb into you MH light it could have damaged it after running for a few hours.

If that's 1x600w left in there then huddle the plants together.

600w can do at max 4ft x 4ft. Ideally around 3.5x3.5.

Get them closer together and sort out the ballast issue with supplier. In the meantime you could look for a cheap magnetic to get you through a bit later into flowering.

Like Jonda said just get your lights together as best you can and regroup. You can "tread water" for a week or so with CFLs with no negative impacts, just try to keep your light schedule about the same.

Chill. It will be fine.
