This was my first time taking clones, but i sat and absorbed all the information i could from this website. i wanted 4 clones, so i took 8 knowing that ill be shit at it lol.

i cut them with a clean razor blade, dipped them in rooting hormone, then into the soil about an inch deep.

But they look ill :(. its about 3 days after.
lights are cfls, 180 watts, but about a ft away so they dont get overwhelmed.
normal potting soil
misting 3 times a day.

Thanks...+ rep to anyone who helps.
will they survive????

Weasel,

I'm no expert but here's my 0.02...... Obviously, when the cuttings are taken they have no roots so it's important to have a himidity dome over the clones and spray them regularly with ph'd water which it seems that you are doing. Here's my method and it works for me with soil. I start them in an aero cloner until they have roots that are 3 or 4 inches long. Then I bury them in soil as deeply as I can. I water them 3 times a day for 2 or 3 days and usually start seeing some new leaf growth at that time.

Once my clones develop roots, I remove the humidity dome and let them breathe..... I still spray them but only once a day but I let them get acclimated to a less humid environment. I experienced the same thing that you are (wilting)when I took them straight out from under the humidity dome and into the soil with no adjustment period.

Best of luck to you.

Yeah i have to agree the best way to get clones established and rooted is in my opinion rockwool.Make sure you purchase a product too condition your rockwool.I soak mine with europonic for 24hrs prior to taking cuttings. Also i would reccomend keeping your clones covered until roots are established.

Ive used rapid rooters and peat pellets with about 90% success. Never used soil but I have seen it done before. I wouldnt give up on them yet man, just see how it goes. I have had some that look like that after about 2 days and they came back to life. Make sure you are making another cut while you have the cutting in a cup of water to avoid an air bubble forming

Also you should get a heating pad. Makes a big difference with the time it takes to root. I went from 2-3 weeks to about 1 with adding a small heating pad. I got one from a pet store that is sold for fish and reptile tanks for about $15

I put mine in a peat pellet and put the bottom half of a plastic bottle over top for a humidity dome, put a little perlite at the bottom so the roots have something to grow into. I think your main problem is humidity. I also only use about a 26w cfl about 10-12in away

I just took this picture for you. I transplanted these Snow White clones from my aero cloner into soil approx 8 days ago.

stoney jake is def right about the heating pad.It makes a huge difference.Just be careful if you do purchase one as they all maintain a different level of heat and you can cook your clones.I put a 4 inch tall piece of plastic under my starter trays and it seems to be just about perfect heat wise.

I use peet pellets packed in soil for my clones and have a good success rate.

I think a couple of those could possibly still make it. I would keep them constantly misted under fluorescents or indirect sunlight. Most of mine look like shit a couple days after they are cut.

Don't give up on them quite yet, they are not dried out and still have a chance to take root. You will be able to tell when they are fully dead because the tops will turn yellow/ brown and die. If the bottom leaves only turn yellow and start falling off then that is actually a good thing. It usually takes me at least 10 days to figure out if my clones are taking root.

Good Luck

next time like they say use rokwool and try to make a grren house affect like a dome to keep all that humidity inside.. humidity should be at 85% and higher

I keep my humidity 40-60%. If your humidity is to high then it makes the clones take even longer to root because they can get most of their moisture from their leafs....I hear people say that you need it higher but I think its incorrect..
At least I wouldnt worry about it to much. A dome is a good idea though

heyy bro u should have like 80% humidity, make sure there isnt an opening in the dome either:(

plus u should have higher temperatures at this part of their lives, like 85f

and rockwool is the best option to go with clones. sry bout the clones!
