got thru harvest. but now these are on my little ones leaving white specs.
im thinking
thripes.
if its thripes whats the best way to treat them ? neem ? spinosad? etc.
thanks for any help
thanks for the response. yeah im pretty sure they are thrips, I wanted an experienced eye though. local grow store gave me something called "wipe out" ready to use formula. legal state so he had hemp plants set up and showed me how to spray correctly to get all those bastards.
I plan on ordering some of that spinosad online. I didn't want to wait to treat the plants so I took what he had then though. ill get spinobad for future. now that I know what to look for I remember seeing their plant damage before and realize I need better pest damage identification and control.
live and learn
They are really small. I am guessing maybe a 1/16 of an inch...…...you will strain to see them on your leaf without magnification. don't touch your plant because I believe they will move.... but look along the crease of the leaf. ppl will tell you to look under the leaf. but I saw them all on top of the leaf. there was small white specs. some looked like little lines. not long ones. after a while your leaf will die from to much damage. mine seemed to dry up quickly.lol wonder if thats the same grow shop i go to. how hard was it to find that bug? ive been having weird leaf stuff happening and dont know if i have thrips or now.
growing under a quantum board, when looking under the lights the spots are noticeable, but have tried to find bugs and havent seen any, i have a crappy loupe but have not been able to find any peats

if you go to the same store as me, look for that loupe. its about 10 bucks.. You attach it to your phone and it can take video using your phones cam. it is much easier to take a video and extract a clear bug shot from that. than to try to get one of those bastards to stand still enough for my camera to focus and hit the button at the right time without moving the camera. they are small and don't stay still. I hope to get a better loupe some day. but that one will do for now.
View attachment 4244562 The damage they do looks like the small white spots I have circled.
View attachment 4244563 again the damage done is circled. The red circle and arrows pointing is where you should look imo for them, they seem to like to run to that area for protection when disturbed. they also are found a lot around the veins.
They are no bigger than the length of one of those white spots. they are brown and look like a small speck of dust. turn off your fan.
I don't know if you've ever hunted. but its kinda the same thing, your looking for movement. stay still and just watch a leaf with damage. wait and watch what you think is dust on the leaf. some of that dust may move. Don't use the loupe for this. just use your eyes.
