What is THE strain to grow right now from seed?

In my opinion what you've described is exactly why the decline in ganja over the last two or three decades

They may have been "breeding" it, but what were they breeding to accomplish? they bred out the odor in real Skunk#1 so now that weed is gone in favor of what?, making it smell like a friggin mango or something like that, so how's the high? not very potent but it sure smells almost kinda like a mango, Whoopie! :/

.. and now we're how many successive so-called "breeding" programs down the road, now you've got something that's a really strong mango-ish flavor, but it couldn't get a fly high.

Just my two cents but I grew it then and I'm growing it now for what it's worth, good luck
Some of you guys have really poor attitudes. I doubt you guys are breeding better than any of the popular seed banks today. There are better strains out today than the classics. Although they are offspring of the classics that doesn’t mean they’re not better. Don’t be haters.

I’m looking at growing a strain called Glookies by Barney’s Farm. THC in the mid 20’s. Huge yield in 8-9 weeks. Cross between GSC thin mint Pheno and GG4. Taste is supposed to be phenomenal.
I normally look for something that flowers in under 9. Good yield. High thc levels.

If by better you mean higher THC content some of us are not concerned with the highest THC content available. Many of us look for qualities other than the THC number.

I grew out a Northern Light I got from a dispensary once. I had heard so many good things, and was nostalgic of reading about it in Marc Emery's seedlist.

It was not very good. Nothing compared to the Bruce Banner clone I got.

I might buy a few packs of beans and go on a plant hunt one of these days. Because I know it can't be as bad as the clone I got. Critical Jack was also a horrible clone. It yielded off the charts, but was average at best. I think the best way to go with legacy strains like that is to buy it from the original breeder and do it yourself and not trust people to know the right ones to pick.

Because after the spider mites I got from the AK-47 clone I will never buy another clone from a dispensary.
Take your clone in a cup and dip it in green cure and then after it dries. Dip it in some pyrethrin mix.

Spray the surface of the media and the container it's in. You now have a clean clone. Take it a step further and have a whole nother grow op in another location and run it there to be sure it's clean, Bring it's clones to the main op and run.

I can't remember where but saw a video review of Laughing Buddha and they were nuts about it, that plus the laughing attacks it supposedly makes had me wanting to try it.

Cookie crosses are among the best I've tried. I'll always grow more cookies. There's a reason they're popular.

Not good my friend, not good. I was reading around the interwebs after my purchase, that BF are not too respected in quite a few circles, I was just hoping to strike it lucky!.
If mine don't pop, I think I'll just go back to my roots (;)) and go for some decent non fem White Rhino seeds, and get a nice mother going....
Maybe still try some of those GGirl seeds though.... :D
