What is the best thing you learned/picked up from RIU?

As the title states, What are some the tips and tricks learned here that you think made a significant difference in your yields/taste/flower time/potency/...etc.


I'm vegging some plants in a bubble bucket, and i'm seeing exponential growth rates. I learned alot about PH levels and nutrient uptake through RIU :P
 
before I found this place all i knew about growing was it happened with soil and water lol
now i have a 250w DWC grow and i am going to FIM my babies. Possibly trying a fim + SCOG

you couldn't have explained it better lol. I'm on my first dwc---scrog, let me know how that fim/scrog works though, i've thought about that myself.

But yes, that fact that i'm even attempting to grow is all due to RIU and the community, didn't even think it was possible to grow decent amounts in a closet.
 
Well the coolest thing I've learnt is that sand on soil keep flies away :)

As well as my home made spray, concocting of tobasco, garlic and water with a hint of lemon LOL

I am with yah bud. I am also under a 250 but with soil at the moment. For my next grow I have a single waterfarm and a home made dwc bucket that I built. I will be doing them along with a hempy bucket to see what I like best. I started in an aerogarden with great results. I am now using soil and omg it is so much easier the aerogarden. I have learned so much here.
 
I learned alot about dwc hydro from other growers here on RIU..among many other things.

But, the most useful tip.. Putting rooting powder/hormone directly into my water in my buckets.

It makes my clones develop healthy roots in days!!!!

i learned how to grow! lol. when i first started i knew nothing about growing. i spent months reading the forums here and i learned how, and i had help through my whole first grow from the people here. i'd say the best things i've learned were to use molasses, the process of 12/12 from seed, lst, topping...so many wicked things i've picked up from people here :D
 
I've made a few good friends, learned how to grow RIGHT, and learned how to make hash oil with a plastic coke bottle :)
