What is the best strain for the hot south climate.

looking to grow four to twenty plants guerilla style. I have looked through all of the best online seed banks and have read about all different types of strains. The seeds will be feminized. I'd like something that would be less detectable, something that will blend in.... if that is possible. I definitely have to get something that harvests in september because hunting is huge in my area. I actually ran into one when I was scouting out someone's property the other day. Up in a tree stand, he caught me by surprise when I heard him ask "You crazy boy?" I looked up at him, and said "no, I'm not. I'm leaving now." He didn't ask who I was, where I was from, or why I was walking around on his property.. Still debating if I will revisit after hunting season beacause it was an awesome spot..

I'd like to hear what type plants and strains made it down here. Also like to know which seed bank you used.

couldn't tell you from personal experience, but from the recommendations of others on here, i'm going with kaya gold from nirvana. it's bred to be hardy and forgiving for novice growers and rough climates, and although it was grown up north, tristynhawk reported his harvested in mid september this year.
i can't recommend highly enough that you stay the hell out of the woods during hunting season, ESPECIALLY on other people's property. A couple years ago I was hiking on some public land and didn't realize that deer season had started. The first shot kicked up dirt about 5 feet to my left. I heard the next three hit a few feet behind me while I was on a dead run. And this was on PUBLIC land. Now...I'm sure that the overwhelming majority of hunters will not fire at you, but at the very best you're going to annoy them and probably chase the deer away, and I'm a pretty firm believer in not fucking with somebody that hasn't fucked with me yet. Not sure about the specifics of GA law, but I'd place a fairly hefty wager they'd be well within their rights to shoot you as a trespasser if you were on their land.

LOL, the Chattahoochee is where Deliverance was filmed. They probably thought you were the one that shot their brother with a bow and arrow...kidding. That is a nice area, drove through there twice from Florida to NC.

Eliminate the hunters altogether, try State and Federal parks etc. Then you won't be limited by strain.

LMAO I forgot all about the deliverance thing. This actually happened in Kentucky; maybe I stumbled upon somebody's still.

With a longer Fall, there are many more strains to choose from I cannot do outdoors. Check the seed bank review section here. Try and order directly from a breeder as opposed to a seed bank that just re-sells breeders beans...you'll save some $$ and be assured of the real deal.

I'm bumping this. I'd like to hear more on the subject. I know there are some people on here who know some people who have had success with certain strains... I have a few ideas as to what I'm looking for but wanting to hear about specific strains Or anyone that just has some knowledge on the subject. The ideal strain, absent of preference of high or taste, should be able to withstand very high heat, high humidity, and be drought resistant.

To plumman, maybe look into some island strains. Could be promising.

I grew in North and Central Florida for many years wihich is very hot and humid followed by cold and humid. I can't tell you about indicas, I don't bother with them very often but you want to try for the more tropical sativas. Lambs Bread (Jamican), Panama Red, Mex sativas but here you have to think of the region, columbian and such as these. That being said I know most are grown and bred now indoors which if you are growing outside defeats the purpose. Look for something which hasn't been bred indoors for a long period of time or for breeders that grow from outside stock, IMHO. In all honesty I think many who grow outside if they can't find these characteristics should almost grow some good bagseed which was grown outdoors. These can be more easily acclimated to your conditions outside.
In 2007 after my genetics were stolen and I had to start from scratch again I went with some sativas and sativa doms to start breeding again. I did this with store bought genetics from a good breeder, I think, and now 4 years later with many crosses most of which I am just starting to grow out I see some small progress in mold control and pest control. Very small so far but with each generation you will see small improvements. Pain in the ass going this way but if you want the best for your conditions outside you really need to breed for it.

Have you grown Lamb's Bread in Florida?. I found it to be waste of time. Island strains do not care for the heat, humidity, low elevation, and sandy soil. I wound up with high end commercial lacking the racy qualities found in LB. I had much better success with sativa dom skunk strains down there.
