What is the best kind of airstones I want your opinion

I have all different kinds of airstones the 5 inch circle ones the long blue ones and I have lil cheap fish tank airstones but I see big grey ones and I just want to know what u think is the best kind for my bubblebucket or if certain ones work better for certain applications

Also is it better for lil bubbles or big bubbles has been bothering me for a while which is better I think the small bubbles would be best but I'm not sure

Depends how much money you want to spend ...They sell "micro pore" air stones wich produce smaller and more bubbles.. but they cost about 20 dollars a piece.. The cheap ones from pet stores work fine. I also use the cylinder air stones as shown in the pics.. I dont know if these air stones actually help, I just wanted to try them out. Micro pores last forever all you have to do is clean them they dont deteriorate over time like the cheap ones. Its all up to you dude the cheap ones work just as good.

Well moneys no issue as this is for my next hydro grow I just don't wanna invest money in the wrong places and buy cheap ones if in the end I'm gonna buy some quality ones thanks for the pics they help out

No stick with the air stones.
The air stone will increase the water circulation more than an undiffused air feed into the tank from an air pump, and the bubbles themselves will also increase the surface area of the water more, but the real benefit from an air stone as far as oxygenation goes is just the increase in circulation.

Cool cool thanks alot I posted new pics of the roots on the first dwc small scale thread u should check em out and I'm gonna make 3 more of the coffee cans and clone 3 different plants than the one I already have to see what female I have does best kinda like my own personal competition maybe I'll make a thread and see who does best the white Russian sweet purple twilight or my special bagseed given to me by family which I hope my family genetics blow em all outhe water haha let's see family genetics has 27 years history and came from Ny pretty sick strain

If you don't want to use an airstone you can just buy airline, or make your own, seem to work pretty well.

I use whatever is at hand, at the monent year old blune inset in orange plastic circular ones, they barely give off any air now thanks to being clogged, but plants don't appear to suffer

I'm about to chop down my white russians in a couple of weeks .. 22% THC

Sweet ima check it out if u got pics somewhere or a journal and if u would let me know how much u get and is there anything u notice that was unusual with the strain or anything they like or dont like as far as nutrients go

Damn they are huge look so good it almost seems like it's too good to be true they look like my hightimes pix of white Russian mine won't look as good as that considering I don't have a hps right now at least no ballast only had the money to get the reflector and bulb last paycheck but next paycheck comes the lumatek dimmable ballast 400/600/1000 I think have u ever heard any good or bad news about the ballast?

No No No No AIRSTONES SUCK BALLS LIKE A DIRTY PROSTITUTE. Use oxegen shield air diffusers. http://www.deepwaterinnovations.com/Products/OxygenShieldAirDiffuser.aspx These things work great better then air stone fits perfectly in 5 gallon bucket trust me you will get bigger yields and your roots will be happy. did side by side comparision with air stone and diffuser. Diffuser won hands down pulled an oz extra off it same strain same nutes just used air diffueser it will be worth your money y keep buyin air stones when u could spen 20 bucks and never have to get another one again!

No those are good ballasts.. You can go on Ebay get a really good price on a generic brand HPS/MH , Thats where I bought mine and it came out to 360 bones for the 1,000W be careful with what light you buy because you are gonna have to get a fan to cool it down.

The WHite Russian strain pretty much grew itself I vegged her with a T5 that pushed out 30k Lumen ( at the time I didnt have a fan to cool the MH and it was summer here so running the AC and 1000W MH would have been heavy on my electric bill) I used General Hydroponic nutes

Flora Grow
Flora Micro
Flora Bloom
Florablend
Floralicious Plus
Cal/Mag ( need to if using R/O water )
Liquid Kool Bloom - Only in flower
and Diamond Nectar as a Foilar spray in veg

This strain didnt start stinking danky until this week. I did get one big mother from the beans.

And beaver I found that lumatek ballast at a local grow shop for 250 I think it's an amazing deal so I just can't refuse it but if all goes bad I will get one from eBay most likely And I'm gonna get a cool tube and save some more money for another ballast for a Mh and probably use my generic reflector for the Mh with my veg box probly get an eBay ballast forthat though since I care more bout my flowers

If I get the dimmable ballast do I buy a 1000 watt bulb and just dimm it to 600 or 400 or do I have to buy all three bulbs questions been pondering my mind for some time

And for the Russian I have foxfarm nutes and ffof soil my special mix with 4,42watt 2600k bulbs 2500 lumens each along with 20,23watt bulbs same k that each have 1750 lumens to come out with 45000 cfl lumens for flower with 4 plants right now under those

For veg I have 8,4ft T8 tubes from 5000k to 6500k each has 2000 lumens for 16000 lumens total veg with 8 plants unde them
All plants in 3 gallon containers for my organic med grow but it's all going dwc soon as I prove to myself I can grow hydro and get a lil experience under my belt

So I'm sure they won't look as good as a hps but I do have alot of lumens I guess

Cant you buy T8 bulbs with red spectrum for flower??

It was yes mother plant is that what you are referring to yes same mother. And hpn0tiq420 no doubt man glad you lookin into it its a good move you will c.

T8 come in red spectrum but I use them for veg and they won't fit in the flower room anyway gonna use them for clones once I get Mh n hps

Are those air diffusers the same thing as those bubble curtains? Rubber tube with holes in it? Or is it like soaker hose? I'm been meaning to try some of that.. That's what krusty buckets used I think.

I'd like to hear more about these air diffusers vs a nice fat cylinder airstone.
