I’ve found only limited choices of de 630 cmh bulbs available in Australia so far:
Lumatek 3100k agro, 4200k
Hortivision 3000k
Sun Plix 3000k, 3000k agro, 4200k
Indoor Sun 4200k

I plan to run a Hi Par de 630w cmh low frequency square wave ballast.

Opinions?

All above brand are from same company, there are only two companies make 315w CMH burner in China, you have no other choice.

Hey lucky Luke
What sort of gpw is that set up capable of averaging? Would that bulb be first choice next time?
The hortivision bulb has the most uv and blue light out of the 3k range bulbs above, which is nice. The sun plix agro has a nice looking spectrum, bit more red, bit less uv and blue.

GPW is not something i chase to be honest and is more grow space, type of grow and strain dependent.
Im happy with the lamp but haven't tried another (it came in the Hi par kit) and wont be for a few years unless i break it. lol. CMH lamps last a long time.

Isn't it connected with 2x 315w burner? Such DE CMH has high failture rate.

Let me show you 630w burner below.

This is single 630w burner DE,

You dont have to show me anything. I have the Hi Par 630w DE CMH that the OP is talking about. And the Hotivison lamp. ur the first to mention anything about a high failure rate.

See those pics, I am one of their suppliers. 1, the two 315w burners are not exactly same size, connect them together we cannot guarantee the power is same on two burners, the lower power one will broken first. 2, It's connected in series to produce acoustic resonance which is harmful to lifespan. So we don't offer warranty for 630W DE, if it really good why big brand like Philips, Gavita or hortilux don't make it? Also if you buy two 315w bulbs and one of them craps out , at least you have some lighting for the plants until you get another one. If the 630w Burns Out you're screwed if you don't have another light. Now we have developed single 630w burner, if HI-PAR willing to purchase it, you may get it in the future.

Whatever mate... ..I haven't had a problem and i haven't heard of one.
Very professional of u bagging a reputable company.
Its amazing that someone who thought that a 630W DW was 2 x 315W SE lamps in the same fixture and didn't know that there was a proper DE available (as has been for ages). And of cause if ur running any single lamp if it fails you need to put in the replacement- thats part of growing and not usually a big deal. Mines been going strong for over a year so far. Touch wood.
Hi Par make quality gear. ud be hard pressed to find anyone unhappy with them. They do supply a warranty. They Do already supply a 630W. https://www.hi-par-horticulture.com/630w-cmh-control-ballast
I get ur saying the bulbs dont last but a HPS bulb is only good for 6 months maybe..Soo,, These last ages, more than a single 315? probably not, but its a different fixture.
