Ok I just got a 250 watt hydrofarm Metal Halide Light system, and I want to get a new bulb for it. It says use only M58 type lamp, whihc I am unsure wat type that is, can I use any 250watt mogul base bulb or wat? Also any suggestions on a good bulb for vegging. This will complete my setup, i have 3 clsoets going my flowering closet has 400watt HPS, my seedling closet has a 8 bulb CFL setup i built, and now this will be for vegging the bigger plants. Any suggestions I got the light off craigslist, and the bulb seems shitty, and I like to get a fres hone either way.

The ballast should handle both MH globe and HPS globe or even a Ceramic halide globe.
The choice is yours if you already have another light going then you should be able to answer this question, however ill do it for you...
m58 bulb is just a probe start bulb...
Take the bulb that's currently in it now, to your hydro shop and buy an exact replacement.

Thanks I don't have a hydro store nearby but I found a bulb online for a m58 probe start. I am pretty sure it will work if not it was cheap enough

This is the link, now the description says switch start but it does say the ANSI is m58 so i think it should work
Philips 27484-5 - 250 Watt - ED28 - Switch Start - Metal Halide - Unprotected Arc Tube - 4000K - ANSI M58/E - Universal Burn - MH250/U
