Dried in 4-5 days, put in jars when stem had the snapping sound but didn't break, been curing for a week an 3 days, bud looks great, smells great, but tastes weird, I'm guessing its not done yet? When does the crappy taste go away an the flavor comes in ? As well as the scent get stronger an more defined?

oh also popped the top twice a day for the first3 days. Now it's every 3 days...

Takes a month at least and so much better when you get out to around three months or so. You should have a humidity meter in there.

Burp the jars when you see moisture forming on the jar. If you can go buy a hygrometer that will help with drying your buds correctly. That way you can monitor the RH inside the jar, if it increases several % an hour, you want to burp them for an hour or two, this can be done with the lid off, or you can put it in a brown paper bag for a more even dry. A 3 week cure is good, month or more is optimal. Heres some more info to help with RH levels if you buy a hygrometer.

Cut the product, trim it per your preference, but don't dry it until the stems snap. Take it down while the stems still have some flex, but the product feel dry on the outside. This is a perfect opportunity to drop the dry-feeling flowers onto a screen and collect prime-quality kief that would otherwise get lost in the jar.

Jar the product, along with a Caliber III hygrometer. One can be had on Ebay for ~$20. Having tested a number of hygrometers - digital and analog - this model in particular produced consistent, accurate results. Then, watch the readings:

+70% RH - too wet, needs to sit outside the jar to dry for 12-24 hours, depending.

65-70% RH - the product is almost in the cure zone, if you will. It can be slowly brought to optimum RH by opening the lid for 2-4 hours.

60-65% RH - the stems snap, the product feels a bit sticky, and it is curing.

55-60% RH - at this point it can be stored for an extended period (3 months or more) without worrying about mold. The product will continue to cure.

It will come around. You should open it up everyday for awhile. Did you flush before harvest?
Yeah flushed for2 weeks. It's pretty dry now, it's very slightly spongy, it's not forming any humidity on the jar, I opened it a few minutes ago since 3 days ago, before that it was once a day.... It still has 5 days to go to the 2 week mark.. Maybe I should leave it sealed til then

always a possibility..... bud just might taste like shit.

bud should still have a decent taste even w/o a cure. curing just makes the taste better.
at least those are my experiences

Nothing is wrong with your cure its the bud , curing wont bring out whats not there..

Not saying your bud isnt any good , just saying dank bud needs no cure to see , smell , taste and feel the dankness...

Good Luck...

Not sure this is the case it's a clone from a grow op where my sister works, from great genetics... Is it possible i need to slow the dry down more than4 days?

Oh ok since genes not the prob , maybe you chopped too early.

Yup the slower the dry the better , it gives it a chance to evenly dry.

If the genes are good all you have to do is be patient grasshopper.

Good Luck

Check your buds for hair or fibers that may have stuck to it during flower, dry, or trimming.......yuck I have seen this before... Any pets?

but you should wait a minimum of 2 weeks in jar, after it has properly dried before even attempting a taste test...
