what is causing this problem?

ive ran several strains now in the same dwc setup, and only cherry pie is exhibiting this symptom. you can see the 2 veg shots, and then in flower it looks like a more severe case. the plant seems fine, its growing good. but a couple of leaves here and there have this appearance.

i was thinking it looked like mag also. i decided to start changing the res every 2 weeks instead of every 4 to keep the nutrient ratios a little more balanced and level..

also on the note of nute burn/overfeeding.. that is possibly the one response out of all the responses ive received across a few different boards that is, in my mind, a strong possibility. i only would know this from experience with the strain. i remember when i grew her in soil, when i cut clones of my strains i put them all in red plastic cups. cherry pie was ALWAYS the last one to turn yellow, indicating she was eating less or slower than the rest. i agree the flower shot does look like some burn happening. this could very well be the issue ill have to keep an eye on it.

cherry pie is a strain that was not bred for indoor. it was made outdoor, and thrives outdoor. theres a lot of reports online that people dont like her indoor because she doesnt perform well. i admit she yields WAY WAY better outside than inside, and the quality is practically the same. could just be one of those strains. its 2 weeks from harvest right now. but some people would take her down right now, she's practically ready. i like to push my strains a little longer though. i ran my fingers over a bud and the only way to describe it is if heaven had a smell, it'd be what this weed smells like. its like sweet sweet skunk #1, with a grandaddy purple perfume hint in there. its amazing.

anyway, to answer the original question. i am using nutrients. im using maxigrow in veg and maxibloom in flower (powder forms of both). in veg i run the EC at around 1.2 under t5 fixtures. in flower i run at 1.6-1.8ec under a 1k hps.

Ya, maybe calmag but what is the op feeding would be a good place to start. Also has he checked for any type of root issues showing up. That doesnt look good.
Maybe a little info on the feed schedule may shed some light on the matter.

havent ever needed any calmag with any other strain, even strains that are known to be heavy calmag eaters like blue dream.

im using maxigrow and maxibloom. they are 1 part powder nutrients by general hydro. in veg im running EC @ around 1.2 and in flower running EC at around 1.8. no foliar feeding. im using microbial tea to keep rootzone healthy. i dont think theres any root issues going on. that particular cherry pie in flower wasnt the best rooted of plants, so its possible it could be a root issue. but its so late in flower cant do anything about it now.
i dont think theres any root health issues though. the tea does a great job at keeping them healthy.

i mix my res at that ec level.. i also use Dutchmaster Gold Silica. i add the silica first, then plain water, then powder nutrients.. then water. then use AN ph up or down accordingly (maxigrow needs ph down, maxibloom needs ph up). i was mixing, and going 4 weeks before i dump res and remix.. just topping off with water and either maxibloom or maxigrow as needed to keep ec around ideal level. but im going to change to dumping res every 2 weeks instead of 4.

heres a pic of 2 cherry pie's in veg, and one cherry pie 2 weeks into flower. looking overall healthy (the one closest to the camera in the smaller veg pic is where i took the close up shot of the damaged veg leaf, its on the lower left of the plant.. but you can see the rest of the plant looks fine).

heres a lights off pic of the cherry pie late in flower, 2 weeks from harvest. its pretty much done but i let em go a little longer.

and heres 2 pics of the blue dream that are 2 weeks from harvest. it shares the res with the cherry pie thats 2 weeks from harvest.

as you can see overall health is good. its just something finicky is happening with the cherry pie intermittently. im wondering if its something i can fix, or if i should even bother trying to fix.
