What inline filter do I use for hooded lights?

I need a dust filter for the intake on my 6 inch air cooled hood. It seems like everyone is using a carbon activated filter but I don't need to scrub the air because it is outside air. I just need to filter dust while maintaining the best airflow.

Is there a dust filter solution I can use that is just for dust?

Would something like a filter for a home furnace work? Obviously, you would have to modify it a tad, but a pair of scissors, some duct tape and a $10 filter might be what you need. The blue ones are the least expensive but pass the most dust. Just about every grocery store I walk into has several types of 3M filters.

This^^^ . Pantyhose or pieces of home furnace filter works great. Dust Shrooms are ridiculously over priced. Buyer beware.
