What I have learned from my first aerogarden grow

okay so after my first failed attempt at growing.. see https://www.rollitup.org/marijuana-plant-problems/51681-leaves-drying-holes-pro-200-a.html I am now going to try with some seeds I got from nirvana PPP things I have learned in this first round thru...

Altho it is called weed, unlike some weeds it really does need good love and proper care
Changing of the water is a must, I am going to do it weekly after the seeds bud.
Get an Airstone
Must have a fan to circulate the area
Check the pH! thats what killed me I think the first time. I think I want pH around 5.8-6.2
get some hydro goodies to help prevent bad stuff from going (be proactive not reactive!)
Light is BAD for roots
Make sure you have pH up and down and a pH tester
also.. probably should have an airpump keep oxygen in water!!

still to learn
howto pinch the plants to get them to grow short and bushy not tall and.. tall
everything else that has to do with growing after the first few weeks of flowering

this is such a great place to learn and readup and so many experianed players

hey siver I just read thru your other post, my guess would be that the PH was your main problem, oxygen to the roots also, make sure you use proper PH down in your systme, i saw someone recomend white vinegar, I have tried this remedy and it doenst work with hydro at least IMHO, you will find several post about it good luck with the 2nd grow, I have an AG going and a DIY bubler

you also shoulda learned that the AG is not for growing cannabis!

Fluorescent lighting makes for short bushy plants. Vegg with fluoro's then flower with HID's.

lol loudblunts we all already knew ag isnt for growing pot but it was an experiment..and yes im gonna stpidly try it again even!.. maybeill try and get my hands on opne or 2 HID's one of my customers at work actually does something where they have a whole bunch of them so maybe i can *cough cough* borrow some of theirs

My buddy gets about 2 oz per plant in his aerogarden 4 plants per unit. Never changes his water just adds ( he uses water from a local freshwater spring) Has an airstone and pump.. minimal nutes and his weed is real good .. I get a free oz here and there from him...

Ye lots of blue light is good for bushy growth, my 400MH is making my plants realy thick and bushy.

Is that whay it is? I got a reptile light on mine and it makes the leafs that it shines on amazingly healthy.....I don't know bout bud yet though......It is like being on another planet with all the light spectrums.......be careful with the UVB lights though....I heard that they are super bad for your skin with extended direct exsposure so I take it as truth.
