What happens if you take a clone from a plant that is in flower stage?

They'll usually take about 3X longer to revert back to veg, and take root. Average, 20 days.


I tried to save a strain recently, and all the lower shoots had turned hollow, before i went to cut them. Three of them died right away, and the 4th isn't looking great, but it's still surviving. it's only been a week, so i can't tell you if it'll take or not. That's a rare case though, 'cause most of the time they wrok fine, and just take longer than usual. Best of luck saving that plant. :cool:
 
it can be real hard on a plant to reveg it. you can get a lot of mutated growth, especially if its late in flower, i've heard this can affect potency as well but sometimes it has to be done to save a strain.

I have a few clones off a 3-4 weeks flowered Lemon Skunk (GHS) and they rooted just as quick as the others and look healthy.
They do take a bit more time to re-veg.

as long as the plant isn't toxified from over-nuting or suffering from severe nitrogen defficiency you should be just fine cloning a flowering plant.
Usually when I finish up I get the plant to a stage it is toxified and in severe N def. as it helps yield and I am killing the plant anyway.

A flowering clone will have tons of branches when it re-vegs.

Thanks for the info. I pulled some clones off of a batch of bagseed plants so that i could put them into early flower for sexing but they are taking longer than I thought they would to show and my plants are getting past the point that I wanted to put them into flower. So I was just curious as to whether or not it was possible to pull clones off my ladies later on without any ill effects...
 
out of what i find 2 weeks in say will take 8 to 12 days to root the longer in the longer it takes to root say its 6weeks in it will take like 2 weeks or longer to clone but thats with my plants that i have might be dif for your plants might take longer or less time i am still kind of new i only got exp on the strains that i have Jamaican kush and purple kush. and the purple kush takes 2 days longer to root then the Jamaican kush and they cloned the same way and adding heat speeds it up even faster
