8 large bags of high quality organic potting soil with coco and Mycorrhizae
25-50 lbs. of organic worm castings
5 lbs. of Blood meal 12-0-0
5 lbs. Bat guano 0-5-0
5 lbs. Fish Bone Meal 3-16-0
¾ cup Epsom salt
1 cup Sweet lime (Dolomite)
½ cup Azomite ( Trace element)
2 Tbs. powdered Humic acid

1. what about adding mycorrhizae? (sub culture, myco madness, white widow, plant success, myco's)

2.what about pest control? (diatomaceous earth, neem cake, moscito dunks, other )

3.it's says 5lbs of 0-5-0 guano, what if you were to use 0-10-0 guano, would you use the same amount or half as much?

4.I see two kinds of AZOMITE, pellets and powered, I have the powdered kind.

5.Will pelletized lime work? It says dolomite on the bag. $3-4 for a 40 lbs bag.

6.Whats the best soils to use besides ROOTS ORGANIC (i have bad luck with that stuff) I have had good results with happy frog and ocean forest before, and can also get Pro organics and pro-mix.

7. Worm castings. I was thinking wiggle worms brand. any objections?

8. any other tips for super soil?

Thank you guys for your anwsers. I have troble reading thogh 1000's of post's and eliminating the bad advise and remember the good advise. just hoping there is someone that already knows the anwers. :)

Unneeded if your base soil contains it. Extra won't hurt and will speed up how fast the myco web spreads, but as long as it's already in the soil, it will spread/grow as the super soil sits.

2.what about pest control? (diatomaceous earth, neem cake, moscito dunks, other )
All fine some people do that

3.it's says 5lbs of 0-5-0 guano, what if you were to use 0-10-0 guano, would you use the same amount or half as much?
That's what i did for mine that was a bit different ratio.

4.I see two kinds of AZOMITE, pellets and powered, I have the powdered kind.
I have tiny pellets, works fine.

5.Will pelletized lime work? It says dolomite on the bag. $3-4 for a 40 lbs bag.

Can't help ya there... i've tried them and others as well (trying sunshine as well as roots this time) and so far I still like roots best. I haven't had any pest issues with it - but they can be dealt with :)

7. Worm castings. I was thinking wiggle worms brand. any objections?
Never heard of it, almost any brand will do, As close even ratio's is best.. like 1-1-1 or 0.5-0.5-0.5, although depends on your stage... 1-0.5-1 would be good for veg, 0.5-1-0.5 flower, etc... but they are pretty much all good as they are as much there for microbes as food. The guano/blood meal/bone meal provide most of the macros.

8. any other tips for super soil?
Be patient and don't rush it. Make sure you make enough because it's not something you're gonna get on short notice (unless you live in the right places in OR/WA :) ).

I add crab meal for extra ca and it helped with some ca deficiencies I was seeing. I'm trying kelp meal on my next round as well I know some others do as well.

Plan to have some extra to set aside for top dressing as needed -- it makes a great little N/P boost a few weeks in if your plants are hungry feeders without going to liquid nutes.

Don't topdress too late in flower or you'll have N in your buds (though you will have green leaves :) ).

Don't try and add nutes or other additives unless you see a true deficiency -- you really only do need to just water and sometimes topdress before if you're seeing yellowing too early.

GH ancient forest humus is one of my favorite additives for my soil mix . But Why not just buy some foxfarm premix along with some lime and be done with it. You sound like me when I first started growing:) . It's better to start simple until you know what's goin on before u just start mixing stuff that u think is good together thinking it will make it better. Trust me I am saving u lots of money.

Vulvic acid problems are the worst. Pee-yew. :) Agree with FreeRange though... just mix it up as per recipe... sub says you don't need to add extra stuff other than maybe something for a little mg-ca. The humates in the recipe add everything you need as far as humic/fulvic acid. Start with the base formula and make that.... then if you feel you aren't getting the desired results, worry about adding other stuff. You will most likely find with the regular super soil mix you don't need anything else. Alfalfa is hot but not an issue as long as you're letting it sit properly... there is plenty of stuff in there that provides everything alfalfa would though.

I am not trying to IMPROVE the mix, just make it the best it can be, I will be adding kelp meal( roots organic has it but i dont think my soil does) and i will not use ancent forest humus that stuff is a joke. Worm castings all the way.

I am going to be useing happy frog and ocean forest. happy frog is a heavyer thicker soil. The thing is when i started growing just over a year ago, i had to use happy frog ocean forest mix for super soil (it's all i could get) I had super results and where i didn't have the best resulst i seen how to solve those problems (top dressing) (teas)

since i had such great results with that I figured i would try the recommened soil (roots organic original) that was back in march and I have not got over 1/8 oz off a plant since, funny thing is the people i know that stayed with happy frog are doing great and i mean GREAT, huge frosty buds, I am almost jelous of them, and i am the one who got them started and setup. LOL but anyways I have wasted thousands of dollors in time and money, so it is time to make the best soil possiable.

ok two questions today?

1. WATER!!!! with a water only mix, the water would play a HUGE role in the out come of the grow. so what is the best water specs for super soil? what ph? how many TDS are best? stuff like that. well arated river water or fish tank water, well water, bottled water? I dont have running water so I have to go get water from somewhere, so i figure why not get the best water for what i am doing

2. than, the only other thing it calls for is SUGERS at the end. well what are the best things to add? I see some use mollassas, others use sucanat, I even seen somewhere that Subcool uses BUD CANDY... what is going to be the best things to add? I figure if i am going to do it i will do it the best i can. (with the exception of i anit useing Roots organic, everyone i know in the real world thinks it is junk, inculeing me now after 2 runs with it ):. back to the suger questions, what is the BEST sugers to add?

Water type does not matter. I pH mine to 6.5 - a) it's the pH soil microbes thrive at, b) if the pH meter is off by .1 of .2, you are still in a range that won't cause a lock out situation with nutrients. Water going into soil is ideal from 6.3 - 6.8. I was using all kinds of store bought RO, tap, distilled water before... i finally said fuck it i'm giving'em plain old tap water. They seem to be thriving on the tap water as much or more than the water before. Unless the water is full of salt or really high TDS, it really does not matter other than the water pH. Aeration is a non issue if your soil is a good mix for aerated soil (plenty of perlite and/or other things to help with that) - just agitating (stirring) the water, aerates it as much as you need for soil -- and you would only need to do that if the water's been sitting -- if you just poured it in, it got oxygenated during the pour.

Subcool used to use bud candy. On a recent weednerd he said he looked at the new bottles of bud candy and the stuff was like water inside. It used to be tan and have a consistancy like syrup, and so he switched to a different sugar additive. Cant remember the new brand that he used. I use hi-brix molases by EarthJuice. Its good quality molases and its inexpensive. I think I paid about $20 for 2.5 gallons....
Also, I dont worry about ph'ing the water. The soil mix takes care of it. When I did start to test and ph my well water before watering my plants, it started screwing up my plants nutrient uptake. I dont know if it was locking out certain nutes or what. So I stopped ph'ing and plants seam so much better.......
