What does RIU think of my CFL veg box?

I just finished this build (took me about an hour and a half) and I am quite happy with the results!

Tell me any changes you can recommend that would be very low budget.
This reflective material is this viola tissue gift wrap I found at the dollar store. Anybody used this stuff before?

looks pretty good to me but what type of bulbs is that your using? they look like general incandescent they mightcause a problem.

what are those things that connect the bulb to the socket?

they are just straight to socket bulb adapters they can be bought in b&q or homebase and places like that aswell as hydro shops and diy stores.

When I first looked at this I thought you had 2 power strips plugged into each other in a loop and some how the lights were still on. I was impressed.

Pretty good build but you should really flatten out the reflective material inside your box so you have even reflections, the way it is now certain spots on your plants are gonna get mad light and some will just get the smallest bit of indirect light.

Yeah, they are incandescent. I should have mentioned this but don't worry, I won't be using them in the grow this was just for testing purposes to make sure it all worked.

Does anyone have suggestions how I can smooth this shiny stuff out?

try using glue dilute it down and paint it on the inner surface of your box then smooth your reflective stuff over the surface and allow it to dry.

garybhoy do those adapters for the bulbs fall out easy ? always thought that was just something you got in america lolol and did you get that reflecive paper in the uk or the us ? im using those emergency blankets but there pritty see through

i dont know how well the adapters work as i use a different setup but i imagine they should be ok its what they are designed for.
the reflective shit on my cabinet is just a basic emergency blanket i got from the £shop in scotland and its not see thru and does the job its meant to.

if you want my honest opinion that think looks like something that could start a fire. i would have opted for aluminum foil possibly over that reflective tissue.
