What would you do with 1 Trillion Dollars?
I'd buy a trillion lottery tickets. One of them would surely be a winner. Hello early retirement!

A trillion dollars. It boggles the mind.

I imagine I would endow a chair at my alma mater.

I would be able to afford some ammunition, too.

One thing's for sure - I'd dress like Elvis. Every day.

I'd need a pretty big island. An island large enough with a diverse enough geography to establish an independent economy. Eh, maybe I'd just try colonizing Mars...

Seriously, I would use that capital to do something positive for my country.

The one thing that springs to mind immediately would be to jump start the industrial hemp industry. Maybe I would even enlist Willie and Woody to help me. Doing so would save small scale agriculture, create jobs, and start a massive economic engine almost completely ignored by the powers that be.

And I would bribe as many politicians as would be necessary to re-legalize cannabis for recreational use.

Dressed as Elvis, of course.

not a bad idea but i'm gona havta think about whether or not the U.S. really should be saved. They could certainly be bribed but thats kinda whats wrong with our country right now. To much "old government" thats not willing to do much more then wuts needed to stay in power.

Based on the political division it probably cannot be saved. Frankly, the way things are going I am not certain I would want it to be saved given the status quo and the miserable direction we are heading.

But my country means so much more to me than the government in power at any given time. Governments come and go, but the land and the people on it - the country - they go on. And my industrial hemp idea would benefit any country regardless of the government in charge.

Bribery may have been too a harsh term. Lobbying is bribery after all. Politics is nothing more than legitimized influence peddling. That, too, will be in place regardless of which flag flies over my country. If a politician wanted a hemp related economic development engine in his district (he can take credit for) he can easily carry my re-legalization bill.

a trillion, we seem to be able to throw that number around with little regard. My son asked me how much a trillion was, and we figured at counting up from one to a trillion, by ones, 24-7-365 would take more than 31 years - maybe I'm confused on the math? A trillion dollars - that's almost 2% of world GDP. yikes, these are ginormous numbers. hard to comprehend.

If I had a trillion dollars...

The government would probably devalue the currency so it was only worth one million...

Imagine in 1913 dollars these trillions we are hurling around are only about 45 Billion. A staggering amount to be sure, especially when you think that 50 Billion dollars would be 2.25 Billion OZ of Gold.

I won't attempt to speak for FLoJo, but I would like to answer the question.

A Republic.
Slightly more important, a Constitutional Republic, but it would seem that description has been smashed by the hammer of ignorance, we're now a "Federalized Democracy" or in real words, under the Tyranny of the supposed majority.

yes, sorry for the long delay, but a constitutional republic exactly.

i think Ben Franklin said it best when asked what the new system of government would be, he replied, a Republic, as long as you can keep it.
