Hey Everyone,

This is my first harvest since October, so I am really excited. Now I know how to tell when a plant is ready, tricome color, full calyx, "turning" pistils, etc... With that said, I have a problem.

With this same strain last year I harvested at day 58, and I was pleased with the product:eyesmoke: but realized I could have waited a week longer. I am currently on day 71 of flowering (that is 10 weeks), and ALL of my tricomes are cloudy, several are amber (I don't like amber tricomes, I don't like the narcotic high feeling), yet 65-75% of my pistils are still white. My calyxs are very swollen (WAY more than last time with this strain), grant it that pretty much all of my pistils are shrinking and getting darker (from the greenish white color turning to a pale white/light light light brown), there is still some new growth. These last 11 days she put on ALOT of weight with foxtails. They popped up all over (even through Ph troubles, thus the crispy leafs). The growth has slowed significantly yet the pistils at the top of the foxtails are still fresh looking.

So this is my delima..... My plant is ready in all regards EXCEPT for pistil color, which doesn't seem to be changing very fast. To make matters worse I found a male flower on top of one of the foxtails (I cut it off before it had a chance to open). The growth has nearly ceased, the tricomes are where I want them to be, and the calyxes look like they are about to rip open (all pillowy feeling too, mmmmmm), but these damn pistils are being stubbern. :cuss:Also some of the "sweet leafs" have damage from the Ph problem, and to curtail any further damage I want to harvest soon.

I consider myself a patient person, and I don't mind waiting a little longer, but JEEZZ.

I'm not asking when do you think its ready, because in my mind it is ready now, I just want to know what you guys would do. Would you harvest soon, or hold out a few more days???? I need a response soon (like 12-24 hours) because my hand is subconsciensly grabbing my shears.

Thanks for all of your help, and I really hope I get many responses. WHEN I DO HARVEST, THIS THREAD WILL HAVE THE FINAL PRODUCT PICS.

Id say if the trichs look good, then harvest it.

One thing that people dont realize is that pistol color has NOTHING to do with the readyness of the bud. It does coincide often, but not always. The only way to know for sure is the trichs, and if you say there good, then chop em.

alot of times your leaves will curl up in the late flowering cycle and it is completely normal so i wouldnt base anything off the leaves alone in this point of your plants life. the thing is white hairs generally mean more growth to come, so the way they are looking i would give them another week, if nothing noticibly good happens i would chop that sucker down in a weeks time. theyre lookin really good though

Hey Guys,

I want to thank you all for your promp responses. You are making this easier on me.

For the record I have been flushing for 16 days.

As for the strain it is an unknown Haze from a medical seed. (Really complex and long background, but I am 90% sure its a haze.)

And the reason the leafs look like that is not because of the normal Nitrogen deficiency once flushing begins, it is because of a Ph problem. I had explained it all in the "Marijuana Plant Problems" catagory under "Veteran needs help..."

Please keep your input coming, for this is what I am using to make my desicion.

Again I know its ready, I just want to see what the collective body says, and so far its "go for it."

Thanks again,
:peace: -BlessAmerica

So far 3 say go ahead and two say they would wait a week. I think once I reach ~10 replys I will make the call.

For the record, I am NOT doing this to bump the thread or get posts like other members have been doing, I genuinely am asking what you all would do, and thank you all for your input.

I would also wait another week at least.

Are you growing from seeds? if so you could have a longer flowering phenotype.

Also I noticed that some clear trich's can have a brown tint to them and can easily be confused with amber trich's.

don't worry about the calyxs go by the trichomes, since you said you dont like the narcotic high of the all amber trichomes harvest tonight or tommorow morning and you will only have a slight narcotic high, but its a good body high to relive pain. if you wait another week to havest you will be unsatisfied. hope this helps nice grow and post pics of the final harvest please:blsmoke:bongsmilie:weed:

Im in the same boat as you. My plants, unknown sativa, will be 10 weeks on the 26th. The problem is that all the big leave on about half of them are dead, worst than yours. I thought it was a nute overburn, but now hearing you say its ph is making me wonder what is really the
prob. At this point I feel like just saying the hell with it and taking them down but I know that If I can be patient they will get a little better
within the remaining time. I guess with that said, I kinda have to wait myself. So what do you think caused the ph problem, plus I thought
ph wasnt really and issue in soil grows.
