what do you find disrespectful?

For anyone who does not know or has never worked at a restaurant job:

Employers in the US ARE allowed to pay someone less than minimum wage if you make any sort of money from tips. This applies to delivery drivers, servers, hosts...anything. The excuse is that whatever amount under minimum wage they give you is made up by what you make in tips.

It pisses me off when people don't tip too (I understand it's different in Europe)...when I worked at Bennigan's a few years back I brought a friend in and got us a 50% discount and he refused to tip as if it were 100%. This made me look bad to my co-workers and it made him look bad. Whether you want to believe it or not, servers do talk shit about their tables. It can get pretty personal at times, especially if you are rude and disrespectful to them. Restaurant workers are very good at being fake to please you so they can keep their job, but if you piss them off they go and talk shit about you and the whole restaurant knows that you're a jerk. Anyone who has worked at a restaurant will probably agree. I'm not saying that anyone will mess with your food because that's disgusting and no one would want that done to them, not to mention it would cost a person their job...but yeah....I'm a good tipper....lol....

my ex gf would scream insults at the drive thru people and throw things. she thought this was cute. I told "the ugly phillipino bitch with the nasty nails" she was drunk. It worked she is alive. Lol.

I work for a local hotel taking reservations, and phone calls from my house. I've been doing it for a year or so now, but I experience lots of rude people. You know the rates are my fault right? lol

I have to agree on smoking people up, or helping them out. I hate when i get sent text after text when i'm trying to help someone who's looking. Mostly my cousin :( She's always wanting my help, and when i come around and i'm looking for a bowl or two until we get a sack she never has any, and her dealer never carries more than a Ounce. lol how dumb does she think i am? I just got a text a few days ago say "don't forget about us, ok?"

every time I fart in the elavator the girl I like gets in after me.
lol, exactly how often do you fart in the elevator? Just the way you worded it, makes it sound like you do it on a regular basis

working with ''mexicants'' who cant speak a word of english, thats pretty disrespectful.
How is it disrespectful that they can't speak English? I totally see how it can make shit a lot harder, I just don't get how it's disrespectful. At least not on their part. I might say that it's disrespectful of your boss to hire people who can't speak a word of English and then expects you to work efficiently with them.

I have no food service industry experience. 20% is the norm in my opinion. 15% on an expensive dinner for two if you're being frugal.

It's different in Europe for a lot of reasons. None I care to share.

Graffiti to me is extremely disrespectful. I have had property I own or friends own that have been tagged. That American kid that tagged a building overseas and got caned for it...Good.

I jsu tread what I wrote. I sound like an illiterate. Ever wonder what happened to that whole thing about "writing how people really talk". When the "Old man and the sea" became required curriculum or some Kerouac thro back. Lol, I dont talk enough to know what I sound like in real life. How about you all.
It wasn't written too bad. Paragraphs are key to easy reading.

on the first, I dont mind if people drain my entire bowl in one hit in the bong.... as long as they can take it like a regular toke.... DO NOT hit my bong like death-row-dave and then cough and choke until you turn purple:twisted:.... it will be your last toke.... but if you clear the bowl, hold for a few seconds, exhale and continue your story, I have nothing to bitch about... I'll just hit twice next timebongsmilie

When people don't use indicators (I've only noticed this in non-motorbike riding people IE car drivers).....this mainly pisses me off because it shows a complete lack of attention and disregard for anyone else's safety.

Women putting make-up on whilst driving and quite clearly not paying attention to the road.

When people claim evolution is 'only a theory'.....

When people push past you in a corridor and don't acknowledge you.

When people are walking whilst texting and not looking where they're going, consequently walking into you.

When you're in a kebab/chinese/indian food shop and the people behind the counter are talking in their own language, then look at you as if you're ignoring them...

Might edit this post later because I'm easily annoyed by ignorance and it happens often.

even so, the minimum wage here blows. SO a waiter bitches about getting paid minimum wage and not getting tips. What about the million other jobs that get minimum wage and no tips. Would you tip the cashier at walmart cause they get paid minimum wage? fuck tips
and it doesnt mean that im a mean person at all.
dude you have no idea what its like to wait tables or serve people.
im a waiter and i get paid an hourly wage of $2.13/ hr
that means I RELY ON TIPS FROM THE CUSTOMERS to put food on the table, gas in the car, pay the bills ,etc.

do you have any idea what it feels like to bust your ass 8+ hrs on a busy friday/saturday night, and then walk out with under $50?

i seriously try my hardest every time to give the best possible service to my customers, and when they don't tip, IT'S RUDE.
everytime someone stiffs me, i want to chase them out of the store, punch them in the fucking face, and tell them never to come close to the restaurant ever again.

oh and you think its easy finding a job right now? i work there because, for the most part, tipping is apart of American culture (except with minorities who are the worst tippers) and people need to realize that. just because the economy sucks, doesnt mean you can skimp on the tip, it means you shouldn't be going out to eat in the first place.

ok this rant has gone way too long. i didn't mean to offend you in any way, but i wanted to argue my case for all the waiters out there who deal with SO much shit from people.
(i could tell you so many stories of the shit i have to deal with waiting tables)

This specific debat is pretty simple to me. Our culture and lifestyle has defined what persons are tipped and how.

No you aren't going to tip someone making minimum wage at Walmart because there is no history or prescident of our culture doing that.

It's understood that tipping a waiter is part of going out to eat.

Here is life in a nutshell:

"You must give before you can ask, and then you MAY recieve." Tipping is part of giving. If you want to see your life improve (not saying it's bad) start tipping, returning shopping carts of others left behind in the parking lot to the cart return, say yes Mam to women your senior...etc.

You will find that the small or large things in life you desire come much easier.

Tipping to me is very important.

Why do the wealthy tip so much? Not because they are wealthy but because they have gratitude. I have seen a few rise to wealth and they were always 15%+ tippers even as starving students. They understand the circle of life.

Give, ask, recieve. :blsmoke:

When people assume that the way they do things is THE way to do things, and take it for granted that everyone else does it the same way.
When people go by outside appearance only.
When people come to your house and leave a mess for you to clean up.
When people want to come and smoke your weed all the time without bringing their own.
When people who are supposed to be friends talk about their problems constantly, but the one time you try to talk about yours, they turn the conversation back to them.
Fucking someone else's significant other behind their back,or without their permission if it's an open relationship.
When a guy assumes I like something sexually without even asking me.
When people try to pressure you to do shit you don't want to, even after you said no.
Calling all women bitches and ho's.
Forcing an animal to do drugs with you against their will.
People who try to hand me little bibles and religious shit without caring whether or not I actually want them.
what are some things that you find to be disrespectful to you?

i work at a gas station and i hate when people throw their money at me or wont set it in my hands.
or when money with all balled up, cant even have the decency to fuckin unfold it.
lol im just weird.... care to share?
