What do we have here??

I've been fortunate enough the last 10 years to not have to deal with pests other than gnats.

Well I found these little guys about a month ago and I've googled all the common pests and can't come up with anything. They seem to kinda look like thrips but all the pics of thrips I found they were either white or opaque. These are black. They also seem to like the bottom of the pots and I'll see them hanging around the drainage holes.

I used cheap peat from home Depot for this grow and I'm assuming that's how they got in my room. My plants don't seem to be all that affected other than random drooping in veg which could've had something to do with gnat larvae but idk.

Also, I'm chopping this weekend and won't be starting another round for a week or 2. I plan on cleaning the room and scrubbing my 4x4. Will cleaning the room and letting it sit empty for a couple weeks eradicate these bugs?

Trips come in a wide variety of colors... Good bleach job when you clean up.

Thanks for the reply. So wouldn't I see it in the foliage if it were thrips? Black specks and whatnot? Cuz I haven't seen anything wrong with the leaves and I only see them toward the bottom of the pots.

Don't know what to tell ya.. that's a Thrip. Just sterilize during reset. Good Luck!
