It’s been a shitty weather day so I spent the day in the shop building the wife a new table for her craft room. A few weeks ago she picked up a couple of fake shelf boards and asked me to make a table for her. I looked at them and thought why…why use that crap….so I decided to round the edges and inlay them in some crappy pine . Now it’s a nice crap table, she’ll pile crap on it and under it ….. perfect. after that I put some ribs on the grill. As I was lighting the grill another rain shower rolled in but it didn’t last long as it quit fog just suddenly lifted up out of the lake.B8CC245A-5934-4B6E-ADD8-FD2F6F683127.jpeg
It was kinda trippy and didn’t last long.

The pine grain looks cool. I like it.

Yes and yes. You are the first one to get that spot on. I figured you'd know ;)
I love it bro. It’s awesome. I ain’t told many people but I really like cutting boards, especially unique ones. I’ve thought about doing some 3D ones but damn that’s a lot of effort with all the beveled rips and cuts and glue up. Back in the day I used to make a lot of cutting boards and give them away at Christmas because I was broke and it was kinda of a personal gift from the heart.

I wish my husband could build me things.

Busy this weekend. Busy today.

I am doing a lot of teaching lately. This is a design I did for a project coin for my two apprentices. The coin is about nickel size and made of 416 stainless. One side is acanthus scrolls in my own personal hatched style, with the center blank for them to design their own monograms. The other is jewelry patterns for bright cut practice, with optional wire inlay and a single stone setting in the center.

This is something that's been waiting a very long time. This is a barlow slipjoint folder fine art engraving commission. My client is an Alaskan tribal peoples, and the design is my take on an origin story from his area. 14k, 24k inlay in relief. The raven will be highly detailed, the cartoony line is for registering the transfer. This may not be the final version. I need to go cook now, lol.

Went to the neurologist, he said my back looks old, uh...yeah. Didn't see anything warranting surgery and gave me referrals to PT and a different pain clinic with directions as to where to shoot me up. Recommended 400 mg of ibuprophen every 4 hrs for inflammation. The redhead nurse was kinda cute at least.
I concur, redheads are kinda cute.

Hope you feel better

Looking old comes naturally for old fucks like us who actually look and feel old. :P

Glad it was a neurologist and not a neurosurgeon, avoid those fuckers like the plague!! You can undo drugs that a neurologist prescribes, you can't undo what a surgeon cuts out / fucks up. Do the Advil, take it easy on the ETOH, and hopefully the steroid shot will make it more bearable.

Oh, and consume as much cannabis as humanly possible.
