What deficiency is this?

I’m pretty sure this is a deficiency but I’m not sure which one. I’m growing in 1/2 soil 1/2 coco with Perilite. I didn’t add any nutes to start and I think I waited a bit too long to start. Anyways what does it look like to you? I figured it would be nitrogen but some of the leaves seem to be dying from the inside out almost. I trimmed all the real yellow ones yesterday, so that’s a days worth of yellowing almost.

When my leaves yellow like that it's usually nitrogen deficient. That can lead to other problems which make the leaves show other symptoms. Slowly increase your nitrogen input until you reach a healthy balance.

check the ph of the run off...
I'm not familiar with using coco but when I use peat I add abit of lime .. I guess it helps with ph swings while the plant matter is still braking down.. so you might have a ph issue.. so give that a check if you can..
you may also want to add some phosphate along with adding some nitrogen.

Some one mentioned lock out.
Of you haven't been feeding them would be part of the problem . Go light light on the food , check the pH of the run off ,
pH should be between 5.2 and 7 normally.
If you pour for example pH water onto the container at 6 and the run off cones out at five you know the soil pH will be around four ,
Put some garden line into you water mix and pour it through the medium . This will help straighten out many issues ,
Lightly feed . Lightly feed
The marijuana is very sensitive to nitrogen and stores it , and with the plants poor health right now go easy and gentle with it.
If it is a nitrogen deficiency it would not take much to pull it out.
A over dose of nitrogen looks similar to this but the leave will twist and turn and be dark green n( nitrogen toxicity ) or twist and burn ( nitrogen over dose)yellow and brown .
If you just feed these things Lucas formula ( GH) micro and bloom 5 ml micro per gallon and ten bloom ml bloom per gallon in decent water preferably RO .
It will self PH to around 5.2 area and will raise through the pH ranges the plant needs to uptake nutrients , you can use Lucas all the way through bloom if you want.

You are supposed to soak Coco in pH valences water before using . It has a notorious tendency to screw up ph

Do all GH nutes change pH/dynamically buffer like that by design? What's the end pH, if it starts at 5.2, and isn't 5.2 pretty low (even if temporary) for soil mixes? I'm pretty much a nube still, so just curious. Bring us to church, @max420thc :)

So I gave them a decent dose of nutrients and I’m not seeing any improvement, maybe even a bit worse. I think next on the list would be to make sure the ph of the soil/coco is good and treat(flush) for lockout. Am I on the right track? Can anyone walk me thru what they would do at this point. I just watered yesterday so I don’t want to flush or water until someone gives me some advise or they dry out so I don’t overwater. The PH of my water is around 6.25 after I adjust it. Thanks everyone!

When your plant is sick you dont want to give it a decent dose :)

Yoh want it to recover then slowly bump up the nutes maintaing a ph of around 6 to 6.3 in coco

Yes some coco needs to be rinsed
From residual ocean salt from cheap coco.

I never had a problem with hana coco.

Co co im pretty sure is ph inert meaning it will be the ph of your soulution or close to it (not including salt build ups).

Plus you have to remember you cant make them be deprived of nitrogen and then give them a "decent" dose of nutes they will fry

Try to be gradual.

To my knowledge the only speacial requirement for coco is added cal mag something about the coco really soaks it up.

Other then that its pretty much just brown sponge :)

Just my 2 im not an expert

By decent dose I meant less than a full dose. I didn’t just blast them with a ton of nutes. I gave them less than a full dose and they didn’t respond well so before giving them any more I was thinking I should flush but I’m not sure.

I had real troble when I added coco to my soil, never done coco alone. It seemed to not alow plant to get what was in the soil. Adding micro or secondary (mineral) nutrients seemed to help.

You wont see any improvement in such a short time from your original post and the follow up post to the time you read this post. Those faded leaves are N deficient. The damaged leaves wont come back and what you have to keep an eye on is the top growth/new growth. Might stand to add a little cal/mag and k as I seen a little deficiency with those in your grow pics as well. If you flush your pots you will flush out all of your nitrogen with it and will have to reapply the nitrogen. Foliar feeding a product like the RAW brand cal mag would help as it has N in it too. or foliar feeding some nitrogen in general would help.

That makes sense. I pulled the dead yellow leaves and the next day there were as many or more so I figured it was still robbing nitrogen because it’s not getting it from its roots. The top growth looks fine to me. A bit lime colored but not bad. Seems healthy to me. Am I wrong in thinking if the existing leaves keep turning yellow that the plant is still deficient?

There's a lot of misinformation in this. Testing your runoff pH doesn't tell you anything relevant especially if used nutrient water. His pH math makes no sense at all. If you have soil pH of 4 the plants in that soil would be nuked. With the coco blend a pH of 6 is good middle ground. It's definitely nitrogen deficient but I would add 5ml per gallon magnesium sulfate (epsom salt) with the each feeding before adding any extra nitrogen. There is plenty of nitrogen in the soil and air, don't worry about washing it out. foliar tea would help.
Because of coco mediums electrochemical properties it tends to grab and hold minerals. When you feed and water you need to let it run until the runoff is the same ppm or close as what you mixed up. Some people that use cpco mix their solution, apply, then immediately rinse with water.

Far from a pro here.. But my two cents is underwatered. In pic your soil looks dry but leaves are dropping and crispy. How much and how often are you giving water? With really dry soil you must water slowly. If not water will run straight out. Give a little water let it soak a minute per two. Then repeat until you feel your medium is saturated.

That's because your a egg head that over thinks thing and it was used as a example. What the point of using Epson salt if the man said he had not been feeding them as Epson salt are normally used to dissolve nutrients salt built up in the media . Testing the run off of your PH gives you some sort of idea wether your PH is messed up or not.
You act like it's hard to do.
God damn just PH some food pour it into the plant catch little water and check the PH .
God damn geniuses all.over roll it up

God damn idiot knuckle dragging growers. Don't even know basic jr high science.
Magnesium is an essential nutrient it is the key to the others working. It doesn't dissolve salt build up, that makes no sense. It frees up macro and micronutrients to be available which is not dissolving.
Testing you soil runnoff with your feed water gives erroneous results and has no relevance to what is happening with the plants. If you want to test the soil pH you need distilled water, a jar and at least 30 minutes.
