Try finding a 2010 or 2009 cent in your change , it happens but pretty rarely.Same with 2009 nickels and dimes , you wont find one in change.2009 nickels were selling on ebay for $50 last year , 2009 dimes @ $27 , they still fetch 3 or 4 bucks a pop.

Have a look on Ebay for 2009 nickels and dimes , its possible you see the odd 1c from 2009 as there were 4 different coins issued in the one year , yes , 4 different designs all in one year.The one with the log cabin is least seen in circulation.If you have seen 2009 nickels and dimes..well..yeah..you were missing something.

i don't know where the hell you all live but around here 25 cents won't even get you a pack of ramen noodles anymore. maybe if they are past the sell date in a bargain shithole or something. i can still get a gumball. wrigley's gum hasn't been 25 cents since the turn of the century. loose ciggarettes are banned here but if you can find them they are usually 30 cents or more. some places still have old video game machines which run on single quarters but even some of those have those contraptions over the slot and will only take dollars. still a quarter a game but that's shiesty. i cannot get a can of soda for a quarter, not even shasta. it's 50 cents at the dollar store (usually the bonus size though). loose or weighed stuff, obviously (4 screws or 6 gummy worms). didn't someone say candy bar? i realize this is an ancient thread, but not that old. where the hell is candy that cheap? cheapest candy bar i've seen is like 80 cents. i just paid almost 8 dollars for a buddy's marlboros. maybe i need to move. my state is retarded expensive.

Yep , the cent changed again for 2010 with the union shield.2009 has the log cabin , then abe lincoln splitting logs ,then when he was a lawyer and the 4th is when he was prez and has an unfinished white house on the reverse.
5 different cents in 12 months , then consider all the different quarters , state quarters,national park quarters , the westward ho nickels , ..its not like the circulating currency required new coinage yet we are inundated with it.
Incidently , the cent is now made from zinc which is known to be toxic.It hasnt been made of copper since 83.The "silver" coins are cupra nickel , so your thread and its point is well founded , the money today is worthless in reality.
