What burns the plants??

Hey what’s up guys I’m about to start my first grow and was wondering how to determine how close is too close for an led light. If it has something to do with light intensity being too strong than can I look at the lux value at the specific heights of my lamp? Or is there some other factor that actually causes the burning?

Heat causes burns, too bright will bleach. You don't want either.
Stick the back of your hand near the lamp until it's uncomfortably hot, move your hand away (slowly) until it's no longer hot, only warm.
That's the closest you plants should be to the lamp.

Good luck

Hey Hugo thanks for the fast reply I meant bleach not burn and will the hand trick work even with it being an led? I read somewhere that even if it doesn’t feel hot at all an led can bleach the plants months down the road due to high of an intensity

Start at 22" above the tops. Most manufacturers instructions average that.
