What are your COB yields?

Im not talking about that one guy on YouTube said, but what have you personally gotten from switching to cobs? G/w or how ever you measured your area.

I've seen between 1-1.4, but I'm still in veg with my first light. I've also heard of a 35%Efficient is about 1g/w. So if you're running 60% you can get closer to 2g/W

Thoughts?

I have an OG that will never average 1 gram/watt ever.....ever....

I also have a Nl #5 x haze that will yield 2 grams/watt with a just a 2 week Veg and 70+ day flower.

Strain dependent as always........

Weight and THC percentages mean nothing if the smoke isn't good to begin with right? I have had 24% Goji OG and Early Skunk from the Dispensary that couldn't hold a flame to the '12%" SSSH that was marked down.....

Some feathers will be rumpled, but whatevs......

I just think GPW is only a good measure for a gardener in his/her own garden. But when trying to compare with others there's too many variables to make comparisons relevant. As was already stated strains themselves can vary so much let alone the way one garden is setup vs another. Geographical locations, weather, all kinds of stuff. Not just which lights and how much.

That's fine, of course it's strain dependent, but at the same time it's nice to have an average for people to get a good idea. What percentage were you running efficiency wise?

Saying it's not a fair comparison is fine, but if you used that doe HPS then grew with cobs... It would be a fair assessment assuming the same area

When I'm asking for g/w it's in comparison to previous grows with HPS, so the numbers would work for this situation, it's not the best and I could ask for something better like g/kwh but odds are people aren't using that as frequently

Didn't see anything HPS mentioned in the OP so my apologies. Was just giving my $0.02. In about another month or so I can give you my numbers. Currently doing a COB/HPS run.

First run with LED cob got me 1.4gr per watt. That was with 25% of the light hitting the ground and no reflective walls, so I was extremely happy.

Based on personal experience of mostly growing single plants under < 300w Amare panels in < 3 x 3 (and not being motivated by GPW) I typically get < 1 GPW

BUT, expand that to 4 x 4+ with 2+ plants and it should be no problem, but as Abiqua said, it's about quality, not quantity

I have one clone under the P3 (300w) in a 4 x 4 but tucked in the corner so more like 2 x 4 and that clone is branching out to damn near fill that space (pic # 1) Pic 2 is same mother/donor clone in 30 x 30, 250w. Note those branches are growing more verticalIMG_3649.JPG IMG_3650.JPG

To be fair, it's about having both if possible
