I start my seeds in the ground outside most of the time they grow faster then if i start them 2 months early indoors, less stress i guess.

My favorite part is tilling the earth, love my beastly machine.

YES!! Just as long as that "button" ontop of the lids goes down & stays there! That let's you know that your canned goods are indeed "sealed"!! If not, you would need to turn it upside down,place it back into your canning pot & bring it back up to a rolling boil!! Wait about 15minutes & it should've sealed!!

the button does not stay down. you lost me when you said turn it upside down and place back into canning pot and bring to rolling boil. whats a canning pot? are you saying because the button isnt staying down the jars are not sealed, and that I can make them seal properly again?

I hear ya bro! I love growing stuff!! My wife tells me all the time that I have a green thumb!! I've tried & tried to teach her how to grow/gardening!! And for the life of me for some reason she just can't get it down!! I guess some of us can, and some can't!! Oh well, more for me to grow!

Oh!! I found a nice tiller in the "trading journal" for 50$ last year!! Works great!! I just think the people I purchased it from where just really hard up for $!! Cause I seen the same brand/tiller at lowes & its around 400$!! They where asking 100$, but I was a stickler, and nit picked about stuff on it, and what not, & they said give me 50 bucks and its yours!! They didn't have to tell me twice!! I was outta there,lol!!

Yup! That's what that "button" on lids is for. To let you know your canned foods are sealed properly!!

A canning pot is just a huge pot big enough to place 4 to 5 pint jars/mason jars in or whatever size you go with, so you can "can" them.

And when that "button" stays down, and your not able to pop it up & down, then its sealed!!
And if it doesn't seal, and you can still pop it up & down, that when you would wanna place it back into your canner/pot & leave it there in the boiling water for an additional 15 to 20 minutes, depending on what your canning!!

question: are you trying to reuse the lids from the pasta as well? (that probably won't work in a home-canning scenario.)

also: which brand of pasta? for home use ideally you should only re-use brands that use actual mason jars in their packaging (when you take the label off the jars will have the word 'mason' embossed right on them). example: 'classico' uses mason jars, 'prego' doesn't. non-mason packing jars aren't safe for heat-processing.

for long term storage, food safety is key. certain low-acid foods (pumpkins and squashes for instance) require a bit more diligence than acidic fruits and so on. (voice of experience here: pumpkin/chestnut butter NEEDS to be pressure canned or it spoils rather quickly )

My sunflowers were sticky like they were coated in syrup and it attracted a lot of ants. They love that shit. And squirrels love sunflower seeds. One flower will give you an ass load of seeds, but you need to expect like 50-75% loss to the squirrels, so plant a lot more than you actually want.

I'm at a new house this year so i'm starting from scratch again. It's gonna be a chili themed garden. Tons of tomatoes, jalapeno, habanero, green/red peppers, oregano. I'm going to attempt onions for the first time. Should be a good chili.

I sure hope they do. I bought 5 different kinds of basil seed packs and out of those 5 4 of them were heirloom kinds. I might try to do some seed harvest of them and either give them away or sell them to help spread the Heirloom stuff around for the better. Fuck GMO crap.
