What are the best brands of Hydro nutrients?

I did my first grow with GH Flora series using the lucas formula. While it worked good and the bud taste was decent after properly flushing, it wouild constantly leave a white build up of something all over everything. The buckets, airstones, tubes, etc. This was a real big pain in the ass when changing the water every week. So im looking to use different nutes this time around that dont leave any type of build up on anything. Not a cheap brand that will give minimum results but nothing overly expensive either. I am going to continue the lucas formula if that makes any difference.

The dispensary near me pumped out some 23%THC weed in a hydro setup with these nutes. They are a relatively new company that is seriously starting to show some really good results in gardens everywhere.

I'm getting good results with home-blended salt ferts. Previously I ran GH Flora, but "as indicated" and not Lucas (I used the green stuff also). A friend is getting fine results with DynaGro. Imo hydro nutes are a bit like gasoline ... the quality is there in the basic blends, and the money (if no necessity) is in the whizbang additives. cn

Most hydro nutrients will leave a build up over time.

Its just the nature of the beast.

You can limit the build up by having good control over fluctuating EC/ppm/TDS.

When I ran hydro I would monitor my res every 24hours looking for shifts in nute strength.

If it strength increased then I would too off with water.

If strength decreased then I would add a nute mix.

Its about finding that happy medium where the EC/ppm/TDS return back at the same strength they left the res. this then means you aren't over or under feeding.

Nutes are only as good as the person controlling them.

I used to use the whole CANNA AQUA lineup.

I now use only the CANNA AQUA VEGA range. Yes that's right I use a veg formula the whole way through.


Along with the veg formula I also use PK1314, Ca Mg, Rhizotonic and potassium Silicat.

I use the CANNA lineup as well. I'm curious why you use the vega all the way through?

I have a gallery of results from using Veg+Bloom by Hydroponic Research. I've used Maxibloom and Dynagro and found Veg+Bloom to be more effective.

I use Advanced Nutrients Sensi series nutes. I run the "Grow" all the into and halfway through flowering - no bloom nutes until then. I do add 1/4 teaspoon Fox Farms Beastie Bloomz when flowering to my grow nutes to add micros. I also use AN VooDoo Juice for root development and use it as suggested by AN and that is not much at all. One bottle has lasted me almost a year and my root systems are non nonpareil. Bud Candy is added the last half of flowering.

I do not have salt buildups. My weed grows great.

Heavy 16, impressive in my opinion.Used foxfarm prior 2 that & was never dissapointed. Other than that i would never consider NOT running my "rootsdude" buddy, snowstorm ultra,crystal burst,& gravity..other than that...like FFOC in 5Gal. buckets.This is what works in my situation,can't complain:lol:

VitaGrow is as good as any. Inexpensive and doesn't have any crud to gum things up. Stays a nice clear golden color and leaves no sludge.

After dealing with GH"s PH issues, Botanicare's expensive sludge, and a few other overpriced products I tried Vitagrow. It's available in liquid or powder. I prefer the powder. It's dirt cheap, maintains PH. Adjust after changing reservoir and it's good for a week at least without messing with PH. I stopped bothering to even check the PH after the initial weekly nute change. Just topped off when needed with tap water. Got better yields than anything else I have used. And you don't need a complicated feeding chart with twenty different products.

Just the basics, calcium nitrate, trace elements, and monopotassium phosphate. Works like a charm. No need for any designer products to grow a weed.
