what are the advantages of foilar feeeding

what are the advantages and reasoning behind foilar feeding???l
hmmm, an extra jolt of nutrients. I never do it except on clone cuttings. Clogs up the pores & makes a mess of the mylar two reasons not to.
Good if you burnt your roots and your plants are desperate for nutes while they regrow.

Good info.............

spraying any liquid under HID light will act like a magnifying glass and can burn the shit out of them

thats not correct young pedua, use at 400 ppm and put in some folvic acid f1 from advanced nutrients and whatevr you wana use but the total ppm cant b over 400 ive seen it pushed to 600 but it might burn them depending on size and strainand never ever feed more then 7 days prior to chopping down and some clean water misting at the end wil make ur buds taste yummy. for the last 4 days then 3 days nothing.

well after a month of feeding if ud ont use folvic acid nutrient uptake slows down do to salt build up and ph fluctuations, foliar get absorbed right away.

some people don't like foliar feeding. It's age old wisdom to "water the soil, not the plant." I think thats outdated. Kinda like sex until marraige.

I hate arguing, so i'm just gonna post a bunch of links supporting foliar spraying. This doesn't offer the other side of the coin though...which i think you mostly have to worry about burning. Not a good idea to spray while having your HID on, so spray before and after the light comes on/off.

If you plant has a deficiency you can make it up with foliage spray. I think clones are ideal for foliage feeding, seeings how they have no roots. I wouldn't do it more than once a week. Some do twice, but i'm scurd.

i like foliar feeding especially if the plants seem to be having any issues getting the nutrients from the root system, ie; you are trying to help them to recover more quickly from a pH imbalance and/or nutrient deficiency.

Also, it helps the plants to 'get a bath' now and again to remove dust and dirt from the (stomata?) the pores or what have you where they breathe and such, making sure to do both the top and the undersides of the leaves. i'd recommend this at least once a month. and the same thing can be done toward the end of flowering i have heard to help to draw out unused nutrients (though you also have to worry about mold and bud rot at this point... so, buyer beware).
