What am I doing wrong? My guess is too much water.

Hey I'm gonna post a couple of pictures to go along as i feel its hard to get a proper diagnosis without pictures.

Also today i realized that i have to start a water/feeding journal so that its easier to show a full picture when asking for help or if i wanna look back at what ive been doing.

I reduced the amount i was watering after talking to my local hydro guy but i think i still have been watering too much as today i realized that since planting them i have never seen the entire top of the soil completely bone dry.

Last time i watered these ladies was 3 days ago. At that point i fed them a small dose of nutes which was their first feeding. Since then it seems Diane (one with damaged cotyledons and some browning/yellowing) started to see some brown though its also weird as shes the one one that isnt sagging her leaves. hydro guy said it could be nute burn which i suppose doesnt sound crazy as it only happened after their first feeding.

A big thing that is confusing me is that they all seem to be doing different things. the last one i planted (a week after the other 3 because the fourth of the first batch didnt sprout) Has a very nice dark green but has drooped as well. Front left (laqueesha) has fat leaves and seems to be trying to add more leaves but colour is starting to brighten. Back right (wilma) starting to become more pale as well but less fat leaves.

LED Strip Build. Lux at top of plants is 9100 ish.

This is turning out to be as stressful as it is fun haha

Seedlings don't need nutes for the first few weeks if growing in soil. Another rule of thumb.... don't name anything you plan on consuming.!
I'm growing in COCO good sir. And i cant help it in terms of naming them! diane sounds so much better than "top right" haha also being my first grow just having some fun with it :)

Was that Coco from a bag, or a brick? If it was not pre rinsed Coco, it may be full of unwanted salts.....

And you can add perlite to your coco for better drainage. What nutes are you using? Your coco should stay moist, not wet, until your roots are established. You got drainage holes in those cups, right? Have to have them!

I grow in coco but start seeds in small containers of a good soil. When they have filled out those containers with roots I transplant into their final three gallon fabric pots of straight coco. The small amount of soil doesn't hurt anything and I start watering and feeding for coco.

I've just found over the years that it makes it easier without dealing with when and how much to start feeding seedlings in coco. With a good soil all you need to do is give them plain water because there is enough nutrients in soil to last a couple weeks at least.

If your growing in coco, especially if your a noobie, its best to use phd, under 200ppm (preferably) dechlorinated water basically no nutes. Treat coco like soil, water every other day or every 3 days, at first, for the first two to three weeks at least (this helps build roots). After week 3 you should be watering with a small of nutes by then, or if your leaves start turning yellow. If you mix perlite into the coco (70%coco/30% perlite) and you can water everyday (I do). One of them might look like nute burn but the rest seem sad, then they get happy in some photos. Try watering every other day, Oh yeah make sure water temp is around 68-72 degrees F.

Don't water again until the cups are very light weight. Pick them up and feel by hand the weight in your hand. After a short while you'll get a feel for how a dry pot feels vs a wet pot. Also, maybe poke more holes , or widen the holes you have for drainage. Remember, pick each pot up and feel the weight in your hand before and after watering, you'll see what I mean. When i am hand watering even my big plants, I pick up a corner of the pot to give me an idea of how much water weight is in the medium.

They say, less is more, at this stage. Or, too much love will kill a plant.

My girls both look like the very bottom picture on here, the yellowing cotyledons are bugging me though I'm in ffof with no nutes, is overwatering the problem?
Ive heard ffof is too hot for seedlings, some genetics can handle it though. That seedling looks good, the cotyledons yellow when they run out of nutrients, if your leaves start yellowing then thats a problem this early on.

I just put seedlings in the ffof yesterday. Guess I wasn' specific about that.. good deal though I'm glad to hear that... ty

Water every 3 days or so when they are that small or if your environment or your pots dry out fast.
It is very dry in here. I was watering every day in those dollar store biodegradable pots..Transplanted from said pots to 3 gallon fabric pots, going to take awhile adjusting to the new schedual. I' afraid of overwatering because that was a big issue on my last grow.. thinking about giving them a weak small dose of ff big bloom to establish more root growth and get them babies growing into the new ffof soil

Water in a circle around the seedling for one week. After that water the whole pot. Dont use nutes at all yet. Ffof should provide enough nutrients until the plant starts showing pistils in flower (autos) not sure about photoperiods.
