What am doing wrong?

I feel like I have plateaued. This is my first grow. I switched the lights to 12/12 on April 6th. And I still feel like I’m not that close to being done. HPS 500w. Big ass pots. 6 plants. Could the pots be too big that the light isn’t big enough? I work
On the road and scared im
Gonna over open them. But the buds don’t look that great. Aren’t fat and aren’t right. Up until this point my plants looks like pictures out of magazines. I just wanna know where I went wrong. image.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpg

What's that medium you're growing in, it looks heavy. Doesn't look like coco but I see no perlite? Tiny holes in your pots but the soil looks like it doesn't have very good drainage capabilities. Just my opinion. ;)

I just bought fabric pots and getting rid of these nasty big things. I has them. My partner got them from his farm. We used straight store bought dirt and peat moss. But the ones we have in veg now seem to be doing much better in the fabric pots.

No coco. Idk any place that sells it around here. And perlite? I know I’ve heard that before. But what is it?

Do you have any fresh air coming in? Intake and exhaust? Might be too much light in that small of a box. Get more air flow

Perlite is used to lighten up the soil and help with drainage. Google will tell you what it is. But using that same soil in fabric pots will still not be optimal. I mean I'm really surprised that you got them looking this good with that medium.

Aerate it a little, if you can, without damaging the roots. Finish them out best you can. In the meantime do some research into a good medium. Look around this site and see what others have luck with, which also may match your experience, ability, and what you feel you want to do.

You may have to order something online if you can't find anything where you live. No garden centers, nursery, hydro stores (which I only go to if I have to) anything like that?

The main thing is research, read, and learn. Talk to the friendly folks here....I said the friendly ones, lol. Best of luck, you're on the right track now!!

I have airflow. I have a carbon filter. That was bought for a room bigger than this tent. And I have two rooms main purpose was for these so I don’t think it’s fresh air. But it could be I’m new to this.

Perlite. Your the second person to say that so I will have to look into it. I have fabric pots for the babies I just started and I used different soil. I used equal parts. Dirt. Vermiculite and peat moss. I live far away from any garden center or anything like that. But I will have to try this petite. How do you aerate roots?

If your new, I would make the drive to find quality bagged soil product. Roots organic. Fox farm. Et. Those have the proper perlite and consistency out of the bag.

your medium is everything. Don’t skimp.
Don’t combine methods. Grow with quality soil and organic amendments/ compost. Or go soiless, with quality nutrients.
