What about using HPS and CFL bulbs together?

Ive been using 2 50 watt HPS bulbs in one oval shaped reflector since I started my grow about a month ago. Today while at home depot, I found a large selection of CFL's in just about every wattage and light spectrum so I picked up 2 150 watt soft white CFL's and 2 75 watt daylight CFL's. I put one of each bulb on both sides of my HPS fixture, so my question is, is this a good or bad thing? I assume that the more light the better, and using 2 different type CFL's in addition to my HPS will provide a wider spectrum of light. Just not sure if its the right thing to do, someone set me straight please.

Thanks man, thats what i figured. Just checked the temp though and these additional lights bumped the temp up to 83 degrees, 2.5 degrees higher than before. Is 83 degrees to hot? Should I step up the air circulation? Or just leave it be?

Ill leave it alone then. Unless anyone else has any input. Ive searched around for info on ideal temp but find varying answers, maybe it depends on the strain and its natural region?

And relative PH, and ventilation, and CO2 level...

That should be a pretty sweet setup once you add them extra lumens + the added spectrum, as for the temp that seems alrite as long as you aint reaching 87-90`. What kinda ventelation you got going on?

I have one big fan (10-12 inch) and three smaller fans (4-5 inch). The bigger fan is focused on the lights while the smaller fans blow on the plants. Thats all at the moment but I do have an exhaust fan (panasonic whisper quiet, bathroom exhaust fan) Im putting in soon, and thinking I need another to draw fresh air in. Im an electrician so getting my hands on exhaust fans is easy, not to mention bulbs, ballasts and fixtures. My light setup is completely frankenstein using parts from several different lights. The setup is constantly evolving, adding lights, adding fans, I guess this is typical on the first grow.
