Well it's hard to say no. Around my way, boomers are an untapped market. 10 a g all the way up for the homie hook up. I've seen people pay 50 an 1/8.
I am looking into morels more and more lately. Problem is they taste so good! I see self control being an issue lol.
The intention of the boom farm wasn't actually to boom farm. It was to easily manage multiple strains in one easy to maintain container or terrarium. As thing progressed, I realized I was doing more than the avg. hobbyist. The fact the each unit can be stacked and easily tucked away is where I came up with all the cash crop jazz. If a person was going for shear profit there is a better way to produce grams. But, When was the last time you went to a dealer and he showed you 6 different mushroom strains? My tek may not fall under the definition of cash crop per say, however I feel the variety makes up for any lost footage. Especially when each strain has a different price.
I would love to see a bed type shroom grow with a full canopy covering a nice sqft area. Before I commit to my statement about not falling under definition.
I am not sure what you mean by canopies here - Cubensis is such a mushroom creating, if you are meticulous, wonderful canopies - . Look around, here I've posted some old pics from when i was working on perfect flushes.
Oysters are where it is at for money if you can dial in the variety with your region and find a cheap substrate - I am working on one that lives on palm fonds. consider, palm debris takes decades to decompose, is soughed off at a rapid rate and is extremely messy. People will pay for someone to take it off their hands. If one could grow an edible from fronds not only would they have a cash crop paying 20 - 40 a lb but they are left with very rich material once the process is over that could easily sell for 8 to 15 dollars a cubic foot.
the problems I am contending with is the fact that fronds are hell on shredders and chippers and the oysters that grow on this sort of material - AND grow at high temperatures are not all that tasty. what i am searching for though is a good way to soak the frond material (it has a waxy coating), and a decend amendment to it in order to increase the yelds which are not very good presentl
