Nothing good ever comes from more government control.

Study your history and see why.

The Bolshevik Revolution, The Cultural Revolution, Castro's Cuba, ect.

If you like the heavy yoke of big government, there are plenty of places where you can find it without bringing it to America.

it is to my understanding that the essence of liberalism is toleration of different beliefs and of different ideas as to what constitutes a good life.
if this is so, i need to be schooled on how it affects us, because i always thought of myself as a liberal.
and i didnt look at it as a negative.
my business game is not up to par.
First i think you are doing something most americans do and are grouping all conservative and liberals into one of 2 camps.

There are actually different direction.

socially liberal (less restriction on personal freedom)
socially conservative (more restriction on personal freedom)

fiscally liberal (progress by taxing and spending more)
fiscally conservative (progress by taxing and spending less)

If you are like me you are looking for the socially liberal and fiscally conservative candidate but those rarely exist in out 2 party system. What you see the most of all are the social and fiscal conservatives (Republicans) or the social and fiscal liberals (Democrats).

That's me as well. Why I m an independent. I agree with many social compacts which are labeled Liberal. Where I part ways is fiscally. Socially liberal, fiscally conservative.

There are ways to address every social issue, but using the govt. is a LAST resort. They just aren't efficient at solutions and they demand control where none is needed.
