What sort of reprocussions would ensue if a plant was left 5 days with out water and then when it was watered the leaves where not dryed out but more so drooped down and flat against the bud..what problems could that cause?

-would it slow down the bud growth or the general growth for a while?

-would it cause more trichomes due to the plant thinking it is going to dry out ?

The plant is back to normal looking, since I watered it but I was curious what kind of long term problems that would give my plants in the long run.

just a curious question because they bounced back up and I want to know how bad that was for them.

thank you:mrgreen:

In high summer, I have to water my girls every 24 - they are drooping by 36. But if that does happen, amazing how they spring back when they get some water.

Me too. They will be fine. This happened a couple times last year and I didn't notice any slowed growth. My plants were looking a little wilty today and I watered them yesterday. Damn girls always wanting some attention.

oh yea...will it cause more root growth when you almost kill them like that lol...do they say oh shit and go searching for more soil that has moisture in it

When you let your plants wilt this causes stress which in turn cause all the systems to become confused for days. This lowers productivity on all levels and your plant will never be all it can be. Things do return to normal but the time is lost and set you back 3 to 10 days when your plants could be growing in stead of being thrown into survival mode way to early. They will recover and keep going but whats done is done.

By the way if it was a good thing people would be doing it.

Peace

I can't leave my girls for 5 days without water I'd they'd for sure be dead. Might need to set something up if you do that again.

If they get so dry to the point that they are eating themselves (lower leaves are yellowing and dying) thats not good. I let my grow medium get dry, but it doesn't help the plants when they get soo... dry the leaves wilt and turn down. That happened to me a couple times this summer too; I was not happy! I was picking yellow leaves, how bout you? IMO water them before the wilt, and youll see some substantial growth immediatly after. Happy plants are better plants!

at least they're still alive. Can you imagine how much fun that vaca would have been if all your girls were dead after months of work? Fuck that. That's why I can't take a damn vacation. Once the outdoor is done, I'm leaving for a week.

You can always use those hand blown glass bubbles that you fill with water and turn upside down and insert into the soil. I have also seen people use coke or soda bottle and do the same thing. The only time air can enter the bottle and release water is when the soil is dry and air can pass through it.

After posting that above I had an epiphany and thought it would be a great idea to design a stake that screwed to a soda pop bottle to water plants while one was away. I started to do some research and low and behold, someone has beat me to it, of course.

These pictured are available on eBay for a set of 6 is $11.

You can use them on 20 oz and 2 liter bottles.
