Welting - cannot diagnosis. Dr. Please

Hello, I have been experiencing some welting on one of my little girls. I have looked at various deficiency charts and whatnot, and I do not have the experience to properly diagnosis.

~1.5 weeks into Veg

Soil - .5 gallon buckets. 15% perlite/85% Fox Farm Ocean Forest

Temp ~70-75

There is a small fan in grow closet.

I mist 1-2 times on each 18/6 cycle.

I crack the door occasionally when I am home to let some fresh air in, but I feel that my door gives plenty of ventilation (door is too small for way but only by .5 inch all around).

My set up is small and closet friendly, consisting of CFLs forming a tunnel to distribute light all throughout the plants i.e. sides and top. Adding up to about a 3x2x2 tunnel of light (~600 watts). It was cheap, quiet, low heat output, and effective for my first grow so in theory it should be for this one.

I have used no nutrients yet as i feel that FFoF has plenty to last until flower and have proven so in the past once before.

The strain is unknown.

I have vegetative plants in here for now and they all seem extremely happy with vibrant green leaves.

One of the three plants has given me the most trouble with slightly darker leaves and welting, the welting only takes place in 1 spot on 2 different sets of early leaves. I am going to upload pics but I am a student with no money so expect such from quality of picture.

I have been a long time reader, but never had the direct need to post.

Thank you in advance

Your pics are too blury to tell much. You have good drainage yes? They look over watered. Why are you misting?

I see probable nute burn from the FFOF, definite problems fro moisture on the leaves, and a wee bit of a focus issue. Imo there is absolutely no benefit in misting. But the real problem is probable overfeed. Jmo. cn

Thanks for the replies, i will stop misting.

I was under the impression that it would keep the leaves from light burn/stress.

I haven't watered in a complete light cycle as i thought over watering was a problem. I will wait longer and beginning a watering cycle with longer intermissions.

As for the nute burn, I don't know that there is much I can do about that. I like soil and I like that it is user friendly imo.

Should I be concerned for those leaves in particular or do you think I can stop this and hope for the plant to repair itself?

And yes good drainage imo

Overwatering...it's causing too many nutes to be released too soon...don't water until the cup or pot is feather light...FFOF will overfeed plants if you overwater it...you will also be likely to get fungus gnats...and don't mist...there is no reason to...MJ prefers soil cycles of totally wet to totally dry...let the get thirsty, they are made for it.

If the plant is irreplaceable, you may want to replant into a milder soil such as seedling starter. Once it's fully established and has healed its overeating problem, im betting you'll be able to use the FFOF to its full benefit. rescued a dying hydro attempt into FF Happy Frog, which is like half-strength OF, and it worked splendidly, giving me two months of vigorous veg without adding any fertilizer. Turns out I had nute-sensitive strains, namely Raspberry Cough and White Widow (confessedly both Nirvana). cn

You guys are awesome! I will make them want it. I had a sneaking suspicion I was mathing up with overwatering.

mmm i remember why i misted, I was informed spider mites were a problem and misting under my leaves would help prevent them.

Okay I have updated my growing area and given my plants a lot more love with the knowledge I have gained from yall. Figured you'd appreciate an update.

I changed my lighting to Bloomboss 90w x1w each ufo. WORKING GREAT!

Flat White on paint and transplanted to bigger pots after experiencing several problems that I could just use the search bar to fix without posting.

So far I ran into Mg def because I didn't add dolomite lime to FFof (still new). I solved by adding 1 tbsn epsom salt to 1 gallon water. worked GREAT. thanks for that.

The first 2 Are Bellsprout. The next 2 are Weepinbell. and the third is Bulbasaur with a tiny issue on one leaf. I know the light is on but I didn't want to disturb the light cycle. He is in a .5 gallon tank that I need to transplant soon to allow root expansion (tomorrow). I know its hard to diagnosis right now if advice if you can. I will update with a quick picture when dark cycle starts so you can see damage better. its a dark welting and drying on the tip (probably just something stupid) thanks in advance my friends.

Temp is 75 lows 84 highs with 40-50% humidity. They are really looking healthy and beautiful thanks to roll it up. (finally got) a meter. if someone could link me to a good ph pen, I would appreciate it.

I have and like an Oakton meter. Not cheap (~$100) but well made. I do not recommend the cheapie pens.
(just went to look) The model is "pHtestr30". cn

Nevermind should of read entire thread.
