A debit from an onsite atm is not the same

I figured I'd try out the dispensary near me on the first day it's legal in Mo... I ddn't make it past the screening room, they wanted to scan my ID, and that's not cool for me.

I don't want it documented with the state that I "shop" for marijuana. I don't have to scan my ID for alcohol in Mo, and the only time I've bought legal pot was in Colorado and the dispensaries there just visually looked at the ID, not logging it into a network.

What I do is none of the gov's fucking business and I'm not willingly putting myself on a list.

I surely do relate to your paranoia.
I see you're in RIU. Wifi? Ethernet? Dialup? Don't matter no how.
Drive into the lot of the store did you? License plates captured on cam.
You walked into a rec store's "screening room" did you? So they got your pic already. FR has already pwned u.
Do you have a social security number? You're obviously not living off grid.
Your ID is everywhere. Check AI, Pegasus, ChatGPT, FR, DEA, FBI, wotev, they pwn u.
They (whoever this "they" are) pwns u. Google yourself.

LOL! No one in the govt. gives a shit about anyone, unless they are trying to overthrow the govt. If you are paying tax dollars, then you are behaving exactly as the govt. wants you to. Joe Nobodyinparticular in Anywhere USA has zero interest to "the govt." They are not important.

That is not a thing here. Cash only is the rule.
The atm after check-in is the clue. Come on over and check it out.

@DeadHeadX definitely hasnt been to a Mass dispensary
Thought of you and your bizarre and false accusation yesterday, botguy. I was about 10 miles from the Mass boarder, 20 minutes or so from silver therapeutics in williamstown, which I have bought from several times, despite your odd questioning of that fact (sorry, you were wrong, Sherlock). This is not even a point of pride. It’s embarrassing to buy that overpriced stuff, but I’ve done it several times. Not since august, when I started harvesting my own though. Good day to you too. Just thought of you as I was addressing adult responsibilities in Bennington. Of course, Bennington and other towns in VT now have their own shops also, so no need to go to Mass at all, which is great with me, even if I do need to buy. I will say Silver Therapeutics had some decent deals from time to time. East coast prices have not dropped like west coast yet, it would appear.

I imagine it’s really all about the dispensaries protecting themselves. They seem pretty paranoid at some of the places and I’m sure it’s all state regs meant to prevent underage sales, etc. Paranoia is a hard habit to break.
Yah, NY has regulations for regulations so I’m sure it’s all about compliance. And the cash thing? It’s pretty standard. Banks won’t touch it til it’s federally legal.

You can use debit cards at many MA dispensaries. At least you could for a time. I’m sure things are evolving quickly. Vt too in some places, using a “cashless atm” process to get around restrictions. I charged seeds with a debit card at the shop in Brattleboro, Vt, though I see they are now cash only. Had a conversation with a guy at his grow shop in NH, where there are no favorable laws. His logic was that it was ok to sell seeds since they have no thc, though he worried it might be gray area.

Im just glad I don’t have to rely on dispensaries … I was growing indoors 3 yrs before NY legalization. Was sick of paying top dollar for crap. Now I pay for elec, soil& water and nutes. Much less per week, month ,or year! Was an experienced grower OD many years ago and stopped when the twins were born. Then teenage high anxiety that “medicine” couldn’t lessen, I started growing again cuz twins with anxiety sucks and “meds” didn’t do anything so I tried weed with them. Instant change. All the anxiety wasn’t gone but down to a very manageable level. Now they can go out in public. The Covid lockdown and sliding schedule at school was the major contributing factor. One graduated and the other one didn’t. He is going for his GED this year.

I hope your kids continue to benefit. I started growing this year as I was finally ready to be open with my kids about my needs and desires.

i think one of the most important aspects of legalization writ large is the removal of the stigmas that surrounded use for so many years. I feel liberated by the openness of it in so many ways. No need to hide any longer, no social shame. Soon anyway.

Missouri is a shithole state with shitty legislation that only benefits the wealthiest among us and allows us plebians to grow and consume weed at the cost of our civil liberties.

I may have been slightly wrong.
Some dispensaries do take debit via some kind of 3rd party processor. Credit card... No
Gotcha. And can you sympathize with confusing a credit card with a debit card? They do sort of look identical. All I use, when I can help it, is the debit card - no criminal 20% interest rates on already overpriced pot, lol. That simple confusion in terms was my mistake. Sorry it created a distraction from the topic

I'm surprised you felt the need to hide it up here to be honest.

Literally saw billboards in MO saying "No state ID required" 2 weeks ago.

"Out of state accepted" Is what caught my eye. I didn't risk it though lol

When we opened for rec here in Mass, i found myself in line with a good number of out of state folks.
Glad that is over with. Waited in a line running down the street after making an appointment.
Cops were checking id's at the door.... Now no line, online order and pickup/pay without the cops
