:peace:At noon today, I put these babies in here and shut the lights out. Not sure what to do next. I got the Ultimate Grow Kit from Nirvana when I bought these feminized seeds.
3 White Widow and 3 White Castle. I have some other ones coming from a new friend that I will be caring for on a trial basis. I'm confident with all of you amazing experts that I can do this! I still have two of each seed left just in case things are less than perfect... I don't like it when shit's less than perfect... I also have the soiltabs but I'm not sure if they are organic or not. I'm strictly organic as I don't want that crap in my body or anyone else's body that smokes my weed. W99T!!

Just doing some house cleaning and I don't think having them in the dark at this time is bad. Just to the left of where I took this is where I have my veg lights anyway, so when they pop their little heads out they will be hit by a 40 watts of sunshine and 40 watts of plant grow, both 4 ft fluorescents. Dump that water out sir, they are moist enough to last for days, your gonna get mold, slime and rotten substrate if you go too long with that pool of water on your girls.

Edit: You "CAN" get mold slime etc.

Yesterday I mixed up the soil. I will have the list of soil ingredients posted shortly. Anyone who has input even if it's tough, I can handle it. If I'm going to be a REAL GROWER, I want the good with the bad. I surely will keep the torch lit along the way and share my experiences with you and others as I gain experience and confidence. Thanks all who are watching, I hope we all learn and grow!
So, here it is, Day 7 and I've just misted the peat bags with rain water after checking. All the seeds (except 4 that I just planted X 2 days ago (yeah, I decided to plant everything I have)) have cracked; so far, so good! So, here is boring Day 7: IMG00019-20100921-1848.jpg

Okay, here is the soil break down, but first let me say that constructive criticism, criticism, suggestions, warnings, this I can do to improve, anything is appreciated. Please also subscribe to this thread!!! Intend on this being a great grow and a positive and exciting journey for all, no matter what... but we do want the outcome as perfect as it can be.
~60% Potting Soil
~10% Building Sand
~15% Perlite
~10% Worm Castings
~5% PreMix
~Plus 1.5 Cups Organic Rose Tone 6-6-4 (small enough to help start roots with some acidity, without being too powerful for the young plants)
~Plus 4 quarts Organic Bone Meal (for root encouragement)
How does it look?

I know that the Miracle Grow Organic Choice isn't that great but I added soil I used in my raised beds and containers this year for a little over half of the potting soil mix. 162 Quarts is how much total (for the 60% potting soil mix) so about half of that is my soil mix. I sifted very carefully for possible bugs and anything potentially damaging. That soil made my late planted organic tomatoes kick everyone else's tomatoes asses... and you didn't think tomatoes had asses... what were you thinking? So, anyway, I think it's a very good combination. No, not fancy names here but I think this mixture has a fair amount of food (yeah there may be weeds but I will be there hovering over them to ensure perfection) for the entire cycle and it's not too much nutrients (I think) to harm the little ones after I plant them from the little peat moss sacks they are in, into the 4 inch pots, then into the 5 gallon or so pots, etc. I have soil tabs (aka www.soiltabs.com) and I will use them to keep it simple. Tent will be here this weekend and I've got to get my electricician here to make the 300 watt metal halides (two 150's) that I will use for the flowering room (as part of the lighting spectrum). If anyone has experience or suggestions regarding anything that may come to mind, please speak out! Thanks for tuning in! Peace

I think that is an excellent idea. My soil may be on the acidic side at this point. I'm going to check it today. I have dehydrated lime (organic too). Will that work too?

Edit: I've also been away for a few days. I'm going to check the ph shortly. I'm guessing I should only add the lime if it's high, which it may be considering the mix.

Looking good bro. Sounds like a good mix to me man your babies will love stretching their legs in some new containers. If any of my next batch of clones get going well I can send one your way bro. I'm gunna start a trainwreck seed that I got out of a batch out of newbury and 2 bubblegum seeds out of a haverhill batch. I'm hoping for a female out of either one or both so I'll have variety blueberry, bubblegum, trainwreck. If I get those going either one of those can be urs free of charge of course man. And yeah dude I missed hempfest I had to work all weekend but I have plans to go to harvest fest next weekend in Maine. So lemme kno if your gunna be there dude we could burn a few and partake in other things as well ; ) hahah.

Thank you Unnk! The nearest WalMart is quite a drive so I've opted for the local (enormous) AGWAY among many other gardening centers I have near me... I'm willing to bet they have the dolomitic lime as opposed to the dehydrated Espoma brand that I have. No matter what I will get the dolomitic. I have only sprouts coming up now and the largest is a White Castle that is only an inch and I think it's fine to hold off on her even until the roots start coming out of the peat bag (not that I want to wait at all) but I'm not going to slack a bit. Early in the AM, I'm buying dolomitic. Is there that much of a difference in the two? I do only want what is best for the plants to take up nutrients. I also haven't heard that expression of testing the run off water... I will do some investigation on that too. I am using rain water which the pH is just perfect. I think it was 6.3 or 6.5 last I checked.
I've got two pH testers. Neither are digital but one is an electric Ferry Morse brand. The other is the new Rapitest brand. Both read dead neutral, 7. I think I need to make it slightly more acidic though rather than alkaline. Am I on the right track? I'm still going to pick up the dolomitic lime as I want to be prepared for anything. Thats just how I gotta roll these days. Thanks very much again! Hope to share some of these buds with you soon too, if we can. IMG00025-20100927-1636.jpg My sprouts so far are all doing well under the peat (I just checked a couple hours ago). I'm pretty sure I got a great batch from Nirvana going here... more on the way... oh, I ust remembered, I gotta get my electircian to come hook up my MH bulbs and ballasts! I've also got to go pick up a 4x4 tent from a very good new friend... plus a couple of plants. He's letting me practice with some full spectrum LEDs... I told ya this was gonna be a great grow! Peace and lotsa healing herbs to all.
Today's status: One more to head under the vegging lights... IMG00027-20100927-1639.jpg

Crap, that means a lot of us missed hempfest. I did make it to www.PorcFest.com though... you absolutely do NOT want to miss that. It's the most amazing secret the enemies of hemp and freedom don't want you to know about. Check it out guys and if you want to go next year, you are warmly welcome to share a camp site with us.
My lady needs some help this weekend as she is going to be recovering from a small surgical proceedure and I'm the caregiver this time... I'm totally okay with it cuz she is amazing. I'm a fortunate dude. So, I won't make it to Harvest in Maine. If you want to ever send clones this way, I'm more than willing to reciprocate!!! Gotta be very careful of the violent ones (government and police and what not who are stupid enough to think they are actually helping anything or anyone). By the way Unnk and SkunkyBud, I'm on The Cape and I have guest space. Please feel free to head this way any time! Partaking is always something to look forward to as we solve the world's problems while lolling in the Cape Cod sun on the beach.
