I've done this type of shit before. Yo son I used juicy juice and similac that I got off my bitches wic card. Man next thing ya know the buds that got that solution were pimping the other buds that didn't. Those similac buds were even slanging bootleg nutrients to my other plants. Wtf man don't do it it could be tge invention of homegrown ghetto buds b.

Afaik you are 100% correct. My only qualifier is about combustion v. metabolism. Simple sugars metabolize cleanly in the organism. Combusting sugar does create noxious compounds ... just imagine spilling something sugary on the stove. Blecch. I doubt it's dangerous, but a sugar toke would taste awful, and even trace sugar in either weed - Cannabis or Nicotiana - makes for harsh. cn

OK, as a newb, this is what I learned so far:

-If I put grape juice in my res I get purplebud, but make sure to grow the strain that turns purple anyway
-If I use crystal lite it, the weed wont give me the munchies
-If I crush up cough drops into my res then I wont cough during bong hits
-Oh yeah, the most important additive, viagra!

This will take medical marijuana to new heights! LOL

In all seriousness, I have learned more about sugars and plant chemistry in this thread than anywhere before. Thanks for the humor and valid rebuttals!

Don't anyone try this with hydro! I added this to my flush and the juice/sugars clogged up my pump and covered the roots with a slime and they had lockout from the water. plants dried up and nearly died under my 150w hps in a cabinet. When I saw this thread I thought " what's the worst it could do?" Guess I found out it could do bad enough. I added Florakleenand turned off the HPS today to see if I can rehydrate them before I cut them down. Live and learn......

Wow. i dont use grape juice on my grape ape..and see smells like a ripe grape. almost like a raisen smell

Here she is at day 41.

with using any type of fruit juice, especially citrus, you'll have way too much acid and it will most likely damage the plant if not completely kill it. i would not recommend trying this. but as always, stay smokey my friends

Here's a picture of my friend's Grape Ape right after harvest while doing the Welch's Grape Juice. He's in fact the one who taught me how. Also, as you cure your bud and it ages, the color/flavor/smell will increase. The bud eventually will turn completely purple with no hints of green.

Try it yourself if you like or you can wait to see how my harvest turns out to attempt it. Also I don't know WHY Welch's, but that's just what was used. So I don't know what the results would be from using other brands of juice.

Anyways I thought I'd share this with you, some people like the natural flavor and smell of their bud. But if you are looking to spice things up a little this is a must.

P.S. Here's my journal if you would like to follow my Welch's Juice crop, won't be for another month like I said but if you are worried that this might harm your plants go ahead and take a peak to see how mine do.

"As God is my witness the Welch's grape juice theory works!! A few years ago my care giver was growing some Planet X outdoors. It was very sticky and had crystal's but had absolutely no smell. Around a month b4 pulling the budz he broke a branch by mistake and dried the budz on it. Well, it was very potent but needed something extra to it to bring out the taste and flavor so sure as shit, he added 100% Welch's grape juice to the plant he had broke and also 3 more other trees but added it around the outside and perimeter of the stock in the dirt. Within a week and a half I noticed that all the budz on the treated plants begin to turn purple and had a grape smell to them. In the final process he flush them with a grape juice water mixture and it was like magic. it was some good tasting powerful grape Planet X that blew my mind.

I knew a person who used grape juice about 11 years ago and it didn't seem to do anything on his plants. I use unsulfured molasses and get sweet results with it, just give a good watering with it about 10 days before estimated harvest time. :peace: p.s. they don't turn purple though.
