don't need to do scrog style with chrome they are designed for penetration into canopy. but scrog will increase almost any yield but i can't blame wej for not wanting to mess with it. i'm still loving my BS Chrome and i've only got the small 4 spot model had it for while now and good results

thou i like the idea of the Blu LED having more variety in its spectrum
Glad your BS Chrome is treating you well too! It'l be interesting to see how the Blu stacks up against the Blackstar; I'll keep you all updated!
The first video for the Blu LEDs will be up shortly!

I am also using BS Chrome lights in my tents. If I may, a question on your feeding schedule. Is this a once a week feed guide?
Correct. I feed once a week and if the plants need more water before then I use PH'd RO water (and I change the PH by .2 every time I water).

That is actually some pretty cool camerawork in the beginning there..overall a nice vid man, keep em coming!

Love the balanced color under the LED...need to be reminded how you do that again!

Nice song choice.

those lights are looking lovely, and indeed nice song pic :) at first i thought you'd switched spectrum on the lights from veg to flower for that color change or was it just camera filter? wasn't sure if blu led included spectrum controls?

& @Snafu

Thats all camera tricks! lol. My camera has a "one push" white balance setting, but most cameras would call it a custom setting. I simply press one button and the tent goes from looking pink to what the plants would normally look like. It's a trip standing in front of the pink tent and getting to see the ladies natural look through the lens.

There are no spectrum controls in the GrowBlu lights that I have currently.

Here's an update on the ladies, day 8.

What is the light penetrating power of the bs chrome? Can you keep up close right next to the plant? How is penetration compared to traditional hps/mh? Thank you for your experiments using the scientific method for accuracy.

Both the Blackstar Chrome and the current GrowBlu LEDs have had no problem whatsoever with light penetration in the 4x4 tent space. I will try to show the secondary light in the next video which penetrates all the way to the floor of the tent. There are no bud sites on any of the plants that are not receiving some sort of direct or ambient light.

I have not used anything under a 600w HPS, but comparing these lights to a 600w HPS I would say the lighting footprint is similar, as they both sufficiently cover a 4x4 tent. I will actually be putting up a 600w tent in the next week or so and I will be sure to show the comparison between the 600w HPS and these LED lights so you can see for yourself.

As for distance, I like to keep my lights at least 8 inches away from the highest point on the plant, which also helps ensure the lighting footprint is sufficient. Thanks for the questions and visiting the thread!

I'm actually running into issues of the light strength being too high on my chrome, i got a tent for some one that they ended up not using and i think its only 5ft tall and i got some bleaching on top of my plants because the light was only like 8 or ten inches away at the time, those new lenses are no joke

Still lookin' great WeJ....

Never heard of GrowBlue before, nice to see them in action though! Would love to see an Area 51 LED, BlackDog LED, and California Light Works panel in the mix sometime... I know this shit is expensive, but do it for science! ......and the children! THINK OF THE CHILDREN! :D

Shot with and without white balance. The focus of this video was to show the penetration of the lights, as well as the progress of the plants since the last update.

The focus these first 2 weeks of flowering are always the roots, so the next feeding these ladies will get will consist of full flower nutes, big bud, cal-mag, zymes and some sugar.

They are by far the quietest light I have owned to date, which is sort of suprising to me since they are designed with ported openings on the side to allow the heat sinks to vent better. These lights really had a lot of thought put into their design and it definitely shows when you see them. I don't know if I remembered to post the unboxing video on here or not, but here it is

Week 6 and this is how it's looking.

A tab bit of bleaching on one or two of the tips, but everything is coming along good otherwise. I'm actually kind of excited to take pics of the white buds lol.
