Pistachio from Humboldt SC grown from seed.
it’s got mostly 3 point and some 5 point leaves, it’s in preflower, another one I gave to a friend is the same, but looks like it’s at least 2 weeks into flower.
im afraid this might hermie and fuck my 5 other beautiful plants.
should I take the safe route and chop it? EB06DE60-123F-4ADF-BE26-C38202BE7877.jpeg92001440-45A7-4426-93D9-EC8A93A920CB.jpeg

I also noticed that something (maybe a rodent) has gnawed at the outer skin or bark of the lower stalk. Hasn’t touched any of my other plants.
it’s always been a weird looking plant with strange branch development.
it’s the only Pistachio plant I kept.
this is the other Pistachio I have a friend.9E52821C-C40A-4581-AFF6-EA26B5F06F82.pngD6488C83-098E-4880-AEDB-83AB9AB37546.jpeg

When did those plants go outside? Are those from clones taken from a plant that had started to flower?

They we’re put outside May 15th. They were getting 17 hours total light (In my greenhouse with natural and supplemental lighting). They’re getting 10+ hours of direct sunlight a day. My 5 other plants (different strains) all went through the exact same process and are all perfect.
Here’s the pic of what looks like something has been gnawing on the base. A8FA10F9-12AF-4133-8768-6961B9384A59.jpeg

I'm not seeing any male parts here. Just be patient, if she's stressed that can draw it out.

Here’s some pics of my other plants, starting to show some stress for 4 straight days above 100 and forcast for 3 more 100+ degree days. Been adding some organic liquid kelp to their watering.
The plant in the ground by the sunflowers is a nearly 8’ tall Blueberry muffin, the one with the fence right behind it is a clone of the B. M.
the others are Apple Blossom.
I email HSC today and actually got a response on the funky Pistachio, they are forwarding my email and pics to their breeder and said he’d get back to me on Monday.9CE97807-399A-4C7E-876A-FC466F41C375.jpegBBB35922-EEA8-4B89-9B7D-5C52417601C0.jpegAC8B198B-E7F5-48AC-BCF9-E2CA9ABB3304.jpeg126D1270-471B-4637-AA3A-C5E08365C3AE.jpeg9AF9147B-4795-4668-BA41-ADC2DC6A5A88.jpeg

If you mulch those it will help quite a bit with heat stress.

Here what the breeder from Humboldt Seed Company said about the above plants. It really doesn’t make any sense, but hey, they offered me a free pack of seeds of any strain they produce.

Our breeder Nat said that the supplemental light was more than likely the cause of the flowering early plants. Plants from seed do not need any type of supplemental lighting, they differ from clones in this manner. They can get confused if they have more light & we see this happen quite often, as they will get a little wonky. It shouldn't affect the final outcome too much. We are happy to send you a replacement pack of any strain you would like to try. Just let us know your pick & your shipping address. Thanks again,

That’s pretty solid of them to offer a new pack. Man the heats been brutal by me, it’s finally under 100F after about 2 weeks straight.
there is only so much you can do for that pistachio outside of just continuing forward and seeing what happens, I think it will be alright hang in there !

Yeah. I for sure wasn’t angling for a freebie, so that was really above and beyond what I expected.
