Weird Issues

Hey Dr shiny, you ask for advice. You get some good advice to get your grow back on track. Yet you dismiss it all, I don't get that at all.

Plz don't ask for advice if you ain't gonna bother taking it, idiot.

Yeah actually, more than once, people have told me to do things and then someone else said to do the opposite. I'm not here for an instruction manual, or for you people to make my decisions for me. I'm here to learn about these issues i'm facing and why they are occurring, and what I should do to go about correcting the problem.

I'm not made of money, I can't just go buy a ph meter, new lighting setup, grow tent, fancy nutes etc.

If I can't grow some buds with the setup i'm having to improvise with, so be it.
At least its a learning experience to try.
You people are some serious assholes. Its like you expect my first attempt at growing to look like a professional operation.
I'm sure its hilarious, but obviously I came to the wrong site.
All I wanted to do is discuss some of these ideas and learn.
Logically, why in the world wouldn't putting an air stone in the soil help?
Well turns out really its just cause the pump isn't putting out enough airflow to make a difference.
I'm sure you all knew that... How fucking hard is that to just say?
Jesus Christ people make me sick. Nuke the planet man.

And FYI:
I've stopped adding anything to the feedings,
I'm aerating my water before giving it to the plants and letting it sit,
I've transferred the plants into fox farm soil,
I've put them into fabric pots,
and I've fixed their watering schedule

All of these things were advice I followed, Idiot.

Here is an idea. How about if you have nothing constructive to contribute, and you just want to be an asshole...
get the fuck out.

Yea don't worry man it's not you. This forum is full of know it all douche bags. Which is the main reason I contribute very little to this site.

Growth on the big one just started getting explosive, idk what happened but she grew a whole extra set of fan leaves on each stem while I was at work.
Also, plant physiology question. Do the stems grow lengthwise along the whole stem, or only from the tip?

thanks for the contribution, now read the whole thread and stop acting so fucking haughty :dunce:
So you are such an arrogant prick that you ASSUME the only possibly way he could agree with me, is if he had not read the entire thread? That sounds like the definition of haughty to me.

actuallyy, the haughtiness came from him calling everyone else on rollitup a douche except for himself and that's why he's too good to try to help anyone.

your shit in the fabric pots is underwatered and the one in the white pot is going to get algae. and crest sucks, invest in some colgate ;)

Are you talking about axillary branches?
Yes, but I was under the impression that after the FIM or whatever I did, technically they are now all axillary.
In any case, my question is does length only come from the tip, or does the entire stem continue to grow (in length)

your shit in the fabric pots is under-watered and the one in the white pot is going to get algae. and crest sucks, invest in some colgate ;)
I mean its obvious not everyone on here is a douche. You've been particularly helpful. And thank you for it. But come on, the douche level in this place is very high. Its like people use this site to feel awesome about how good of a grower they are and laugh at everyone else trying to learn.
The big one is a little under-watered, but it was over-watered for so long i'm trying to be cautious, but I am having to water it nearly every day or the soil goes bone dry down to about 4 or 5 inches.
Realistically, it feels like every day is too soon, but every 2 days is too long. I'm giving it a good bit of water too. About a liter each watering. The soil is getting pretty evenly wet, but it just dries out so quick. I'm still waiting on the temp and humidity monitor to get here, but I wonder if my humidity is just really low. I'm just going to wait until it gets here before I think about doing anything about the humidity. For now i'm going to give it more water each session and let it go longer between watering. I just watered it, and the pot was able to take a full gallon of water with only a little runoff.

Why do you think the small pot is going to get algae? I'm not watering it as fast. that one seems to be doing well getting sprayed down with a spray bottle till the soil is damp about once every 3 or 4 days.

Plants are looking better. The one with the droopy leaves still has something strange going on. Good job saving them.

Thanks!
So that picture was taken BEFORE watering. I think perhaps the leaves were looking a little droopy cause i'm waiting a bit longer than I should to water, trying to dry the soil out a little.
I just watered it actually, about an hour ago, let me put up some more pics....

OK so here is another set of pics about an hour after watering. Also, note that the plants aren't as yellow as my camera and the cfl bulbs are making it look.

Ok so this is a pretty good view of how the leaves look most of the time, they will perk up a bit more as the soil drains a little.

1_27_16_2 (2).jpg
Here you can see that the lower leaves on this side are almost point straight down. I believe this is being cause by a CFL bulb I was putting on it lower on the side trying to coax the smallest branches to fill out a little. Should I be putting any fill lighting at a longer distance from the leaves than the main top light? On the other side of the plant, this isn't happening. But is it really a bad thing?

Here are the tops. Crowded but the plant is still small enough that I'm afraid to try any lst yet. I feel like if i tie down a branch to that fabric pot, its so flexy that it could break branches if I tried to lift the pot. I'm considering just holding them down with fishing weights.

I've changed how i'm setting up my grow a bit to give me more room. The cans were an intriguing idea, just not really worth the inconvenience of cramping my space up when I could make my life easier just using all the room I have and throwing away old shit in my closet.

So what i'm left with is 2 isolated spaces. One is 2x2x10 and one is 2x3x10 (all the way to the ceiling.) If I really wanted to eventually, I could probably fabricate something to break the space into 4 isolated spaces, but I don't see that as necessary at the moment. Right now I just need a separate veg and flower space. I want to keep a mother and take clones from her. I'm using the larger space as the veg area for the moment, because I don't have the lighting for the flowering yet, and I'm building an aeroponic cloner which will take up some space in the veg side as well.

I have a small desk fan going in the veg side, and 7 23 watt cfls total in there. 3 x 2700k and 4 x 5000k
On the flower side, I'm building the 100w 3000K LED COB fixture, with a 120 degree focusing lens. I should be able to keep that about 2 feet from the tops from what I've read. Which should make it better than the cfls for getting light to all the parts of the plant during flowering. As far as intensity, the COB is supposed to produce 11,000lm at 100 watts. The CFL's are putting out 11,200lm all together. But its omnidirectional, poorly focused, and doesn't have a very far effective range. So i'm thinking the LED will be a definite improvement over an equivalent CFL setup. And I have a monster CPU cooler I got for it which should make the thing give off very little heat.

Don't say it. I know. I want HPS and MH lamps, but I can't get them yet. This LED fixture, with all parts included, is costing me $27.00. From what I've seen, I can't find a 400w HPS setup for less than $100. So If I eventually find that I want more yields, I'll upgrade. But I'm going to have to sink some money into better ventilation if I do that too so i'm trying to hold off and see how it goes.

Thread's pretty long so I'll just ask, what is your environment like currently? Temp, humidity, etc.

I just described the setup in the last post, as for the climate, the temp doesn't feel to be much different than room temp which is around 75F Most likely a bit dry, but not like a desert. I have ordered a meter for both, but I don't have it yet.

how the fuck are you getting this for $27 - most cobs start out at more money than that by themselves.

my promix plants in fabric pots have needed water every day since the middle of veg (and that is why i'm never using fabric pots again!!!). i know promix dries out more evenly, but if it is drying out that far down every day, then you may just need to water them every day.

So this on is $37.00

I managed to get My heatsink for 9, and 12v supply for 10.
