weird hps bulb

ok i bought 7 of the valutek hps bulbs 400 watter and they are a different shape than all the bulbs i have for the 400 are long and like cylindar shaped but this one is resebles a football shape havent tried to put them in but i imagine they will work are these different from norml hps bulbs

You should try and find the company online or go to a light store, not a grow store. The lights are probably good for growing. check your ballast to make sure theres no specific bulb type or shape needed. Most hps bulbs can be used for growing quite well. I just use generic lukalox bulbs that I can get at a light store for less than a $40 for a 1000 watt. They compare very well to the expensive grow bulbs at a grow shop that cost over a $100. -Hope this helps some

Do your research man, it is not always worht the extra 60 bucks at the hydro store, but I have found that there is a big difference between a 40$ bulb, and a 100$ bulb, you get what you pay for...

I would contact the business you purchased from and ask them if it is just a different design/manufacturer or if possibly someone made an error in your order. I have seen a number of MH bulbs that are football shaped and while I have seen HPS ones that shape too it is more infrequent so before I tried it I would want to make sure it was not a shipping error and you accidentally received one MH bulb.

well im going to try it its says hps on the bulb i think and i know what color hps is so if it doesnt work in my ballast or lights up white then all call them but if it works will just be odd
