Weird brownish slime in res.

Hey guys . I mix my nutes in a 25 gal res. I have noticed that there is a brownish slime growing on my airstones and in my res in general. Could it be one of the nutes? Any ideas?

im not a hydro guy so i cant say for sure but brownish slime sounds sort of like root rot to me.. or at least the begining maybe.look at the link and see if you have the signs.

Sorry the res is only used to hold the mixed water/nutes . I grow in soil. No plants have contact with the res. I will try to get pics. Asap. But its just a slime.

Peroxide seems to react with whatever it is . So i am doing a peroxide wash . Then gonna try to mix up 1/2 a batch and see what i get . Hopefully peroxide treatment will be enough. Im sooo broke.

check that link out i think it applys to your situation. peroxide seems like a good solution.also hottest water you can stand when you rinse it out.

np..nice to see you fixed it.

Cant say it worked . I cleaned res and sprayed with peroxide dilute. Im just gonna mix enough to use from now on . It takes around 19 gallons to water all my plants and its a 25g res . So i will just have to be more careful to not let it build up.
