Is this based on personal knowledge of leds or are you just parroting the ads you bought yours from?

I'm on my second run of Blue Dream, and I can assure you that the color isn't due to the strain, it's too much nitrogen. That's also why you have such "larfy" buds and scorched leaf tips. Ease back on the nutrients. What kind of lights are you using? I would say closer to 4 weeks to go. Mine run 9-10 but I'm using 1000 hps. With weaker lighting it takes longer. I use water only for the last "feeding" before harvest, but no real "flush",....and the Mountain Dew idea is silly. It effects the osmosis of the soil, making it difficult or impossible for the plant to draw in nutrients or water...kind of like clogging the pipes. Adding sugars at the end does nothing to help. The purpose of the molasses is to feed the microbes in your soil. I add it in small amounts during the beginning and middle of the grow, but none towards the end.

Its a hard crowd on this forum sometimes. Don't turn in into a 420 forum and look into things too much

Think I will do man. What make any model is yours? Do you know if you can set it to take a photo like every minute or so? It would be awesome to post some timelapses on here!

A camera would be difficult for me as my room is built in a metal barn and a ways from the house so no wifi and no hard wired access...but I could record.He didn't have too i seen the lights he was using in the above pictures he posted

. Yeah sorry, I did see the light in the pic later. Regardless, running around advocating your new purple toy as a cure for cancer is BS. I said your plants are nice as far as I can tell in that lighting...but that was just a nice way of saying "nothing special". Peace

I wasn't trying to promote LED's i simply suggested if he wanted to add extra light for cheap it was a possibility. And yeah you could do that no problem with certain cams and mobile apps.

Your post exposes you as a jerk, forums like RIU are brilliant but with guys like yourself trying to make others look stupid or questioning their posts is not required. We are all here to share ideas and experiences and help each other, why be confrontational about someones reply when the post has been submitted in good faith?

I hear you man, not trying to jump on anyone, but it's hard when people can only see things thru the filter of their own experiences. I know no "serious" grower would use cfls or "blurple" leds, but they will in fact grow decent quality smoke. I think if you can drop $1k on a killer COB or whatever that would be great, but sometimes you just work with what you have. I hear all the CFL haters (and I have moved on to MH/HPS) but I know I can use them to grow something as good or better than I can buy, and I bet the $100 leds would do the same. It's just not always about growing cup winning meds, I just wanted off the dispensary tit...

Exactly bro, I don't have the money to pay the electricity bills that using HPS for example brings, nor do i have a high enough tent to adequately house a set up and not burn the plants. LED's let me grow my own smoke in the space that i have for a good deal cheaper and it won't be a million miles away from what others are growing. Horses for courses.
I have friends who have superior grows to me with their set ups so i know LED's are not the best but they work and their great for beginners.

Yes share EXPERIENCES, how many plants have you harvested so far?, just saying so far you pave no idea how well your leds worked when they have never even finished a job, perhaps wait and see how they do before you recommend others to buy them, for all you know your plants would be bigger if you used cfl, and yes I am a jerk, I'm at a good place with it, perhaps in time you will be too

As a new grower, everything I have been told, read etc tells me that the plant is quite dark for being that late in flower. As far as the space limitations, I would do more research on micro grows. Definitely solid information out there, but one thing I have been reminded of numerous times is not to trust just any random gospel you read online. I personally look for people who have journals, photos, etc to back their claims. Additionally, there are reasons why certain members have seemed to earn respect from other growers on this site, keep in mind though that "Well-Known" doesn't equal quality, experienced growers. I am a prime example of this as a new grower who has just been active on RIU.Hey brother i sent you the details in conversations. Enjoy

This may be my biggest (only?) gripe with RIU. I have had people throw "Well-Known" in my face like I'm claiming expertise lol. I didn't put it there, it only proves I talk too much
Edit: How about a system based on something else, maybe post to like ratio or something? I know, the sheeple would just pump up the bad info pushers, but maybe still a better metric of the zeitgeist?

Personally i haven't harvested any yet but this was not a harvest thread so i was not giving advice on anything i did not know about. I have friends who have done most methods including hydro which i have been involved with so i know what the outcomes are and what mine is likely to be. I'm a week away from harvest so i guess then i will have experience in that be it very limited. One step at a time.

My best advice as ignore the haters on these threads. The reality is that not everyone grows to try and be a cup winner etc, and I think the as important as lights, equipment, so on and so forth is, that nothing can make up for the willingness to learn and try new things. I feel your suggestion was warranted give the OP's original post, however I have found many growers on these threads are stuck in there ways and if your not with them, then you must be against them type mind set. I myself am running a 600w HPS for flower with a decent size space, but have had some issues with heat ect, that probably wouldn't be as bad with LED. Just keep doing what works for you. Final thought, would you mind sending info over my way?

Heh I wouldn't worry about anything at all when it comes to LED's per watt vs Regular Light bulbs.
Strain will matter most in the end and LED's will prove they do give more, last longer, cost less to run, give off less heat, easier to manage,etc,etc,etc....
As for the plants they look great!

I think I was the first "hater" to jump in and I jumped the gun as I didn't see the CFLs hanging in the OPs pic. My bad. That said, nobody on their first grow should be giving anyone else advice here. <-note period

That is where opinions differ slightly, but to each their own. I think anyone can voice an opinion and believe it or not sometimes new growers have decent advice. Yes, maybe I'm not the one to go to about exact cultivation techniques, so on and so forth, but to advise someone to continue their research, and throw a couple ideas out as to what they might want to search for while there at, doesn't seem like bad advice.
If a first time grower shouldn't be giving out advice to anyone else here, then I would like you to evaluated my advice on this thread and ADVISE me what was so bad about that should prevent me from commenting? Hell the first time grower had to point out the lights that were being used? Sometimes even the best, most veteran growers overlook small details.

Almost forgot...looking at your posts in this thread it appears at no time did you even offer a suggestion in regards to the OP's post, however each comment you posted had sometime of sideways insulting demeanor towards those who were trying to help. If you don't want first timers giving advice, then maybe yourself as a "more veteran grower" should try giving advice rather then just being a "hater" as you put it.

The point in my advice was simply to say stop telling people to run out and buy blurple lights until you have had some results with them, they do not work as well as other types of lighting in my experience, for the money you spend on them you can buy hid(a proven producer), if you can't control the heat on hid, then there are some awesome diy cob options and t5 solutions that will give far better returns on investment than Chinese blurple tech, just trying to keep others from having HUNDREDS of dollars hanging in their garage to veg with when they could have just used to 8ft florescent tubes that were already there, if that makes me a hater than cool I'll hate on, please disregaurd anything I've said previously and continue to do whatever it is you want to do
