After the chop I do a 24 hour roots off flush in reverse osmosis water. The average budded snip will suck up about 1/2 liter of RO water during this final process before being hung to dry...like putting a cut flower in a vase of water, but in this case a five gallon bucket. Put a couple bricks or something in the pail to rest the stump of the snips on, the sap will hang towards the bottom.

I do F&D hydro, here's a pick of one of my tables with melons. Pot's illegal in Canada so.

Look here. I never said you couldn't grow. I didn't say you didn't learn in school either! I did give advice on high N expression.

I had no real problem with you, till you threw the MF thing at me...So what then? You didn't expect me to shoot back?
I'll also point out. If you can't take a cpl of pokes at you. This site can be tough on that sometimes....

Exactly....no more non sense...I was growing sherbet tho...and that bud wit the stems I posted was a small branch I snapped off from drying so I can smoke it and see how my product came out... that’s why I posted a pic of the jars and buds so I can show what it all came out to.. I had 7 and a half ounces wit another quarter ounce... Thursday I’m putting in 3 new strains... I used a 600w hps through out my whole grow... I’m about to sale that and get a 1000w DE light from luxxlighting.. I have a 4x4 tent.. I could have done a little better this grow with controlling my temps in the last 2 weeks, it went up to 85 degrees from 69-75 average.. so I decided to pull them at 8 weeks and 3 days because the buds started getting hard and crispy... nice pics tho

OK...Mmm, 4x4 tent and a 1K DE.. Your going to have heat problems with that!

DE's are best run in high ceiling rooms. Like 14 + feet. More of an industrial growing light but very effective... The tall ceiling is for the heat to rise away from the plants.... I suppose it could work in a tent but, "I" might not try it under a 5x5! You'll need a lot of airflow through that tent. Cooled air too.

600 in a 4x4 is quite effective. 1K is better. I use 1K in square hoods in 5x5's for the breeding and isolation area's. The main grow is 1K's in Jupiter 6 hoods at 6ft center spacing. That way I can run plants in 1 continuous row on either side of a center isle.

Stand alone building for the main. Heated and central air, with HEPA filtered air intake. German dehuey's that work beyond well, holding 45 RH. Only a 3-4% swing and they cycle on. Heat is held to a layering of about 80 at the canopy, 74 or so at mid plant and 69-70 at the pot level... This is done by creative Thermostat location... There is some AC boosting in the summer and in winter the cooling is done by a specifically located Greenhouse thermostat switch. It pulls in the cold air from the outside to cool the rooms..

Mostly water only soils, I build myself but, have an increasing amount of synthetic run plants again. Botanicare KIND line and a home made Mag sulfate mix and the same for a Potassium sulfate mix.

Still have to try a one and done powder that some want me to try...No one carries it around here and I haven't gotten around to ordering it yet.. So nothing on that front for a bit..

Be sure you cure properly and you'll learn how to really enjoy your work...

Interesting group of bottles. "I" would say "To many" but, growing is what you learn and what you like. Getting better is all in experimenting and taking time to write down notes...

So, stronger light and lower overall temps will help lots. You'll see..

Flush a few early a few later and none at all?

Just wondering, not really convenient to take my couple out and flush em and I don't want to try and deal with any mess or clogged drains inside.

Nobody flushes their fruits and vegetables or herb beds....

I’m not going to lie, I jus did a 10 day flush on my sherbet and I never do that shit again... If I flush it’s going to be for the last 2 days before harvest.. a lot of people on here told me I shouldn’t flush that long but I did anyway..I know for next time..

I got asked about this in a PM by a member after seeing the disaster another thread became. He asked where to find books and papers on "flushing" and said he might try the "fade".

Here's my answer to him......I felt it needs to be seen,,,,,,again!

Your looking for post grad work. You would do better to search papers......The thing is, NOTHING in agriculture gets 'flushed" and that leads to little to no research in the area. You see, the thing is, the whole "idea" of "flushing is nonsense! Plants don't work that way! They do not take up nutrients or salts as most of you think of them! They do not "store" them in the sense you think of them! Not only that, but the nutritional "stores" in a plant are not in buds or budding or flowers! NO amount of "flushing" will "exchange" plant "stored" nutrition back "out" of the plant! Scientifically impossible by the way most of you guys understand......Ok, that's my word on "flushing". (No one listens to this in threads if they don't want to hear it or accept it.)

Now then, you propose the "FADE TO FINISH" method. Great idea in theory but, and this IS a BIG BUT! Remember when I said above that "the nutritional "stores" in a plant are not in buds or budding or flowers!" ? This shoots that theory in the ass right away. You see the main amount of stored nutrition is in either the roots and the rest in leaves and some in small amounts in transit in the phloam (the sap that actually moves the nutrients around the plant)......

Now when you "starve a plant" it will draw from it's self by actually breaking down the needed parts of it's self to do an "emergency" attempt to reproduce! (This can happen in certain plants even in veg! A kind of last ditch effort to continue the species.)

With that in mind you take the fact that the plant is not "moving" nutrients "out" of buds, but into them to speed growth and as fast as it can - "reproduce". This single minded process the plant now puts it's self on causes the plant to stress it's self. This self induced stress can, in many cases if done long enough, lead the plant to go bisexual, and produce "banana's" in a last ditch effort to reproduce and "carry on the line" and produce seeds...

Basically put, In reality you are moving nutrients that you're "attempting" to get rid of,,right to where your trying to remove them from! You are also stressing the plant in the way for "Herming" to actually happen easier!

I and many others that have tried to convey this actual plant science, are called everything you can think of and those 'impossible of understanding these facts", fight so hard against us that many of us have simply chosen to avoid the issue or don't fight to hard.

Anyway, there you are in as short and sweet and as simple/understandable as I can...

The thing is you have to understand Botany and Horticulture (and there are LOTS of subsections to those that are involved here) to truly put together the pieces of the puzzle to get your head wrapped around the idea that flushing and the "fade" don't work for what they are intended or alleged to actually do!
