Week 6 - Alaskan Thunderf*ck Tundra aka ATA

This is the dilemma guys, ATA is suppose to be a 6 weeks strain and it is no where to be ready, all the pistils are still white, and trichomes just started.

Currently, using a a 430W hps, and i am thinking about switching to a 400W MH because i heard the UV B rays can create more trichomes.

Now my concern is, if i use MH, wouldn't the plant still need the RED SPECTRUM and also when a plant is about to finish, i think it will make tricomes regardless in the end.

So should i switch between mh and hps every other day, but will this delay my final flowering period?

Or everyday give 2-3 hrs of MH and use HPS for the rest.

Let me know what to do guys.....+ REPPPPPPPpppppp

hook up both those lights and blast that mother finished! no but really i cant speak from experience but every bit of info ive come across hps is always used to flower. but you never know i could be wrong.

Most definatley leave it the way it is, you are overcomplicating things.
There will be little to no benefit of switching to MH at week 6 of flower, it may even delay things and stress your plant as it's used to the HPS now.
In my opinion there is no such thing as a "6 weeker", I would say the earliest plants are 7 weeks and even then an extra week will increase yield, taste, resin etc.
Just leave things the way they are and be patient, i.e be prepared to go to 8 weeks if you need to, you've waited this long, don't spoil it now for the sake of a couple of weeks, you'll be pleased you did, hope this helps:eyesmoke:

ive also read that one of the traits of atf is that the pistils stay white even though the buds are ripe although if you are sayin the trichs havnt formed up yet then i guess they are not ready either way ill look around for that thread i read that in i remember reading a bunch of stuff on atf and certain things it needs different than most other strains might have some info that can help answer your question and by the way howd you come across the strain i hear that true atf is only available through clone if not and you know where to get seeds let us all know

thanks for the input guys, oh and btw....this is a crossbred as well with some kind of Afgani so its 100% indica.

But i want to say F8CK "seedsman", they do have interesting strains but their plant are too unstable because ATA is definitely no a 6 week strain.

...Will upload pics tonight via my phone since my boyZ are sleeping right now!!!!

says 6 to 8 weeks, be patient
Correct, the pics you have put up of your plants, they are displaying stereotypical sativa orientated leaf growth meaning 8 weeks is going to be the earliest you can chop I would say. The discrepency in the breeders "6-8 weeks" flowering time probably means there are a couple of different phenotypes at least, 1 maybe more Indica biased with broader leaves and the sativa biased one it appears you have, be patient they look spot on!!

That's true, but ATA is suppose to be pure Indica and should finish quick and also I'm just ranting about the stability of the strains by SEEDSMAN in general! If this strain was from Mr nice or Greenhouse, than i think it would be more stable and plus most websites say that it flowers in 6 weeks as oppose to 6-8.

More pics will be updated through out the weeks.

I just harvested some TF about a week ago, I let it go a full 10 weeks. It is perfect. ANd it was TF container seed from the co-op. Yep pure indica but my personal harvest goal is always when it looks ready+2 more weeks=perfect bud. You have a few eeks to go. Did you start counting flowering weeks right when you switched to 12/12 or right when you noticed your first preflower? Flower time begins when preflowers show and that is week 1 of flower. This could all just be a mixup for you. Best bet is to not totally count on breeder length of time. just use their timeframe as an estimate and then add 2 more weeks. good luck

be patient and let it finish, of course three week premature bud is gonna be shitty. just wait until it is done and it will be fine
