There are 2 main factors that lead to the false persecution of Roundup.

1-in the early 80s the rumor began floating around the Roundup was Agent Orange, just with a new name.

2-early in the 90s Monsanto began to get an unjust bad name which has snowballed in the years to follow.

BTW there has never been a direct connection between Agent Orange and cancer either. Yes the government caved to the law suits. It was just cheaper to settle than fight it. And the California verdict in this thread somewhat proves their thinking.

I can't see how a lawsuit proves more than science. It just proves the jury and court were mindless idiots. It will be appealed. And most likely he or his family will never see a penny.
So far all the research has said is Roundup could possibly increase your risk to certain cancers. That's a far cry from saying it does cause, or has caused anyone to get cancer. For fuck sakes it seems if you wipe your ass wrong these days you'll get cancer.

People need warnings on cups to tell them the coffee they ordered is hot and could burn them.
In this case they may have got it right. There had been several complaints that the coffee was too hot. They had it that way so that when you were 10-15 miles down the road, and took your first sip it would still be hot.

From wiki:

Here is some of the evidence the jury heard during the trial: McDonald's operations manual required the franchisee to hold its coffee at 180 to 190 degrees Fahrenheit. Coffee at that temperature, if spilled, causes third-degree burns in three to seven seconds.

I used to fish a small stream back in the fifties. We were subsistence farmers and hunted and fished for our food as well as butchered every fall. Very remote Appalachian area. I had 30 in my graduating class. After the fertilizer runnoff and herbicides it's a mess. I took my grandkids back a few years ago I couldn't believe it. Growths on the few fish we saw. No white bass and no small mouth. A few pumpkin seed and sunfish. I grew up in the area. Beans and corn.
