Web Design Software - Who's Got A Recomendation

I'd like to lend a hand to the people unable to weed out the crap in this thread for lack of knowledge. I have been in the IT business for over 15 years and have hosted with many different providers over the past decade (Co-location and Dedicated.) The best advice was the poster telling you to go learn HTML/CSS/PHP/MYSQL, it's not hard and there are very good guides on the web if you are new to it. You don't have to write 100,000 lines of code to make a basic webpage, if you actually learned these languages you would know this instead of using these crap software programs. In the end you will gain experience, knowledge, put your own flavor on it, and feel the accomplishment of creating something yourself.

Hosting is a different story, everyone has their own taste. If you would like some cheap recommendations and a place to review hosting companies check out

Lucky! I've wanted a dedicated box forever but can't quite justify it yet. My biggest project only gets ~10k uniques per week, haven't seemed to be able to get over this plateau! I'd like to ask you a question. What do you think of SeaMicro's multi cpu atom based servers? Specifically the new 768 core 10u atom server. Do you think that the low power atom servers are going to make a dent in the industry? I know a lot of large companies are using their older (200 or 300 odd core) atom server in production. Not that I could ever afford a 280,000 server lol.

PM away, I'll give you my email. If we can collaborate, awesome. 2 minds work better than 1. I'm sure you probably know stuff I do not, and visa versa. eCommerce shopping carts is my main area on knowledge.

Would be interested on collaborating on a project? Also do you have a portfolio? I'd love to check it out. Even if you don't feel like helping with a design, I would like someone I could bounce ideas off of. It's (it and a few other projects we could discuss) revolve around cannabis, so I can't exactly ask a lot of my peers. Is it cool if I pm you?

I deeply apologize if I came off that way. I truly did not intend it to be. I'm a blunt person and don't really have a filter so I can see how reading it and not knowing me, or my personality it would come off as dickish. So again I apologize. E-handshake?

I have no experience with Atom servers, I imagine they would make decent mail servers/firewalls/dhcp/dns servers but outside of that realm I wouldn't put too much stock in a low end cpu for server duties. I think they will find a market for home servers/media file servers.

*Edit*
I failed to read the 768 core 10u server part, I just read Atom server and skipped the rest. I have no idea how those things will work out, kinda reminds me of the logical thinking that went into the 3dFX Voodoo 5 6000. Time will tell I suppose.

ahh ok! :ehug: haha. Seriously though. I'm wicked sorry for coming off that way. I really need to work on my asshole filter.

That's why I was curious. I have an atom server in my media rack in my garage, but reading about the new 768 core the article said that Skype, Mozilla, Eharmony, France Telecom, Rogers Wireless and China Netcom are using them(edit: the old version of the server) in production for some pretty heavy shit.

hit me up when you have it finished. I'm always looking for designers to work with ever since I gave up on design to focus on development.
