Ive heard many ways to boost trichome production but i would like some more tips. One of the ways i've heard is to lower your humidity before harvest. Also cooler temps at night will encourage resin production. But I would like to get as much advice as possible on the subject. If anyone has any tips or advice please post. It would be much apprieciated! Thanks and Happy Token

so nat, which bulb/light setup and light schedule would you run uvb on?
Im going to go for the 20 mins every hour method.
I am also going to save up for a 5 foot uvb tanning tube and not a spot lamp.
I have never used uvb yet,but i listen to what marijuana man says and i believe him when he says it works.:blsmoke:

I don't know about the distance yet.
I think i will just bung it up against the back wall and rotate the plants on a daily basis,as i normally do anyway.

but how can you find an uvb only bulb? i thought all uv bulbs whether it be uvb still emits uva....and isnt uva harmful to the plants?

would you also used the uv lights with your regular lighting system as supplemental? or would you just use the uv lights?

Well its more uvb than uva.
The sun emits loads of uva and that doesn't seem to hinder outdoor growers.
All uv rays are harmful in large doses as far as i know anyway.

Heres where i am going to buy the uvb tube from.
ISO ITALIA - Tubes, UVA Lamps, UVB Tubes for Sunbeds and Tanning Units

I have also heard that some people and some strains like the cold effect but i think you'll find that they achieve that by letting the grow room get nice a nd cold during the last 4 weeks of flowering in the dark period.:blsmoke:

I was only messing anyway:mrgreen:
I did overlook it.

For my own area i grow in a wide area pattern so i want to spread the uvb to as many plant tops as possible so i though the best way to do it would be to use a tube as they have the best light spread.
Obviously if you have a small contained grow area you would be better of with a spot lamp.

The spot lamps are probably better and more efficient but i would need 3 or 4 of them to cover my area and only one tube.
So i choose tubes.:blsmoke:

yea i seen these Amazon.com: Reptisun 10.0 High Output UVB Lamp - 24 in.: Home & Garden

im trying to incorporate them in a closet setting...

but how do i know how much microwatts per square centimeter ?

like around 100 uW/cm2? how much is too much?
I have no idea mate as this will be my first attempt at using a uvb tube.
I am going to buy a tanning tube with the least amount of emitted uva and see how i go with it.
The instant i notice any ill effects i will either reduce the amount of time i have the bulb on or/and the distance it is away from my plants.
If i notice no effect i will increase the time and shorten the distance.
Play it by ear so to speak.
I dont know about anything of the complexities of uvb,i am just going to go with it and see what comes out:blsmoke:

They wont be cheap and the company ive checked at lists no prices for individual tubes so i am assuming that there not the cheapest.
I will ring them when i have some cash ready and see what they say.
If its way to pricey i will simply google the exact bulbs name that they are offering until i find a better price.
I am saving up because i am skint right now, totally, spent everything lately on a new camera new synthesizer and a great xmas.
Now i must pay for it all:mrgreen:
I will put a few quid a week away for 10 weeks till i need it:blsmoke:

Sound similar to the tubes I am using (4x15watt UVB tanning array). No damage ATM (2weeks in flower at 1hr per day), Plants all Very healthy, plants in the UVB "footprint" taller and sturdier than others cloned and flowered in the same batch. Other light, 2x5' coolwhite fluoro 35watts each, 1xEurolite 250watt combined son/mh.
Just got to suck it and see..
